You were eating above your personal calorie expenditure. I recommend using a TDEE calculator online to get a rough estimate on what that number for you is.

This is misleading. I lost 50lbs, so far, eating at a calorie deficit. I happen to be eating a standard keto diet because it works for me. There’s nothing stopping a vegan or high carb person from doing the same. Eating a certain way won’t do anything if you’re eating too much.
