I will never forgive Perot and Iacocca and the rest of that crowd for popularizing this terrible idea back in the eighties. So much of our modern catastrophe had its seeds planted in that decade.

I feel like that last four years should have driven a stake through the heart of “government needs to be run like a business.”
Sorry, from now on I only want nothing but qualified career civil servants in office. The problem with celebrity politicians is they never want to start at the bottom and work their way up. They want big jobs first and think city council, or state house is beneath them.
That’s the best Trump can offer them. Hey I’m here, but sleepy Joe isn’t.
If voting white women voted like voting black women in 2016 this wouldn’t have been an issue. I am just going to sit over here with the African American women that went over 90% for Clinton in 2016. I expected better from white women (I’m never doing that again) because I definitely knew white men ain’t shit.
Proof again Trump is not the 5-D chess strategist a lot of his lumpen supporters think he is. All the ambulant orange colostomy bag had do do right from the start was say “Follow the CDC guidelines. That’s our best approach for managing this crisis while we put maximum effort into developing treatments and vaccines.…
“We’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas”
Misplaced guilt over not having a “real” career.
Acceptance of my limits and permitting myself to set boundaries. At this late stage of my life, I’m finally letting go of the idea that I’m responsible for everything and the guilt I’ve always felt for not being able to fix all the problems, whatever they were. It’s learning to breathe more freely.
Yes. The question of whether or not “he’s a Republican” feels like the wrong question. What people seem to mean when they ask that in 2020 is, “is he a pro-Trump bigot,” literally a white nationalist or a fascist, which I don’t think Chris Pratt is.
“What I think is so powerful—when my father says that he’s going to... there will be a cure for AIDS in the next 10 years, there will be, and God bless,” Tiffany said. “Like, thank you. Like, yes.”
Honestly here in the UK i keep hearing people whining about “not knowing what the rules are” “its so hard to keep up” blah blah blah
Why do you need specific governmental rules to understand “dont hang out indoors with large groups of people” - just because its “allowed” doesnt mean its sensible!
again, everyone with a baseline level of intelligence and a non-susceptibility to cults knew what garbage Trump was from the beginning; the alarming and disappointing take-home from the last 3+ years is how his presidency caused so many people to drop their pretense to civility and just revel in their rudeness, like…
“I can’t believe she hasn’t figured this out yet.”
FOR REAL. This woman has been in show business for, what, about four decades now? At the very least, she’s been NATIONALLY famous since The Cosby Show debuted in 1984, so she should have some aptitude for answering tricky questions in interviews by now. But apart from…
Oh! THAT’S where I saw him! Yeah, he did give off an angry libertarian white man vibe.
Frankly, as objectively accurate that bit may have been, considering the rest of the monologue, I don’t believe even for a moment that he actually gives a shit. It was just a convenient mask for his misogyny, and misogynistic idiots are falling for it.
A white man issuing that criticism is absolutely punching down. If it came from anyone else it would be legitimate criticism. Coming from him, together with shitting on LGBT people and people with Covid19? He wasn’t punching down, he was stomping down with steel-heeled boots.
Oh, please. That bit may be technically true, but coming from a privileged white man it reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeks of misogyny, especially considering with the other parts of his speech.
What I read up there was super misogynistic. When a man is calling women “bitches” and other choice words, his message is lost, regardless of whether it’s a valid message. He’s just as bad as the people he’s purportedly telling to sit down, if not worse, because he clearly doesn’t even know how to talk to us.
I mean, it IS misogynist, though. That’s his whole schtick: white guy punches down, then squeaks about hypocrisy when he gets called on it, then all the white boys feels smug for ‘pwning the libs’ or whatever.
