My former roommate was a ‘non-vegetarian vegan’. Would eat meat, but hardly any animal byproducts. He literally ordered vegan protein powder. We’d go to a build-your-own pizza place and he’d order gluten-free crust, organic tomato sauce, vegan cheese, and top it with sausage pepperoni and ham.

I was just commenting elsewhere that I remembered this stuff from bio 101. It looks like the study was about a specific aspect of sexual selection, and it’s being misreported as having solved the mystery of why sexual reproduction exists (not really a mystery).
