Regarding the Makeup "Dupe List" - does anyone know what constitutes a "dupe"? The only reference I could find was that the brand name item has a dupe if it's the "same shade" as said in one of the comments here: http://www.temptalia.com/temptalia-com-…

Agreed. I had MM to sync my old iPod, and it worked reasonably well. Then I wanted to transition to syncing my Galaxy S3... and it just won't do it right. Wired, wireless, whatever... it just can't do it properly, and they can't seem to figure out why. Friggen Windows Media Player does a better job of syncing, though

Agreed. For $15/ea, I got 2 Taylors. My wife is a bit clutzy, and I'd rather replace the $15 one a few times than replace a $100 Thermapen even once. Still, how durable are the Thermapens? Can they survive repeated drops from the counter without breaking?

Agreed. My 2006 Legacy GT, modified a bit, did 13.566 @ 100.28 in the 1/4, and 8.67 @ 80.20 in the 1/8th. Using the calculators online for 0-60 (they are esitmates, of course) I get 4.85s for 0-60. Second run (second time slip) is slower, but still better than the time shown for the new car above.

I, too, wasn't sure about this, but my wife was all about it, so I got it for her for xmas. One tip, get the refurbs from Vitamix directly - same warranty and much lower price with the same exact performance.

You are correct - don't know what webpage showed me the S3 as 2009... yeesh. Nor can I explain why my brain didn't catch that, since I own the damn thing! :)

Hardly. iOS7 was just released, and won't support the iPhone 3GS which was released in 2009. So, even if the S3 (released in 2009) doesn't get KK, it still means both phones are phased out of new software at about the same time.

Never run 2 scanners at once - it can slow your system to a crawl. Remove MSE first, then install Avast (or whatever else). I've dealt with too many machines that have Norton and McAfee installed at once - they just don't run properly. Don't do it.

Agreed - http://www.av-comparatives.org/performance-te… says it's not that bad either. I've been using it for years, with no issues... and it's far better than other software. My company forced me into Trend Micro, and it was FAR worse than the free options. Granted, even AV-Comparitives has shown large improvements

Not saying I'm "tall" but at 6-foot, I don't have any problem in my 06 Legacy GT. I will admit the non-leather seats were awful (as they are in most cars)... but the ones in the GT (leather) are very adjustable and are far better.

Yeah, at least with my OG Droid, the auto-download rarely worked. A few apps would download, but it was more like 10-20% of them... so I had to go and use TiBu to restore them. In most cases, this wasn't bad... but in some cases this wouldn't work properly. So, again, I'm wasting time just getting back to where I was

That's what I said, you're not supposed to backup and restore the phone's settings (ie system settings) with TiBu. You can do this, when restoring the same ROM, but not when jumping to a different version, etc. So, I have to go in an resetup the wifi, resetup all the screens and layout of icons, backgrounds, etc.

I have rooted and rommed for a while on various Android phones and tablets that I (and my friends) have had. The big issue I see with romming is that updating the ROM afterwards is just such a hassle. Most ROMs say you have to wipe and install the new one... which isn't impossible, but it ends up being a colossal

@timgray: Love the dialog here and fully support your FOSS leanings. Glad to see someone finally speak up for FOSS, with hard data and info.

There are many vegan-compliant sources as well: http://www.peta.org/living/vegetarian-living/gelatin-alternatives.aspx

Well said. Put another way: The First Amendment is intended to be a shield, not a sword... so it's used to defend YOU from the government impeding YOUR choices... not to allow you to force yours (via "sword") upon others.

I definately appreciate Ubuntu. It's not perfect, but it does get people an easy way to get started with Linux. There are other options now, but for a while it was the best/easiest way. It's also what got me started with MythTV and allowed me to build my HTPC (which is no longer in use due to cable card restrictions).

I work in methadone treatment - we always tell patients not to consume poppy seeds....but it's primarily because so many people will blame poppy seeds if they test opiate positive, and we would refuse to discard the results for that reason. Our director also ate poppy seed bagels for a few days in a row, then

While I agree that the crazy high price of the Infinity option is appropriate for mocking here, I am more bothered by the "dependency" on this feature. The point is, the driver is expected to look over the shoulder into the blindspot with or without this feature. Secondly, with proper adjustment of the side mirrors,

Anything more complicated than this would be considered "elitist"... these people are stupid.
