+1 for the Maverick, and the rebirth of “small trucks” in general.  We have a ‘99 Tacoma that can do everything you need a vehicle to do.  It does nothing great, “good enough” as you said, but it does everything in a way that no other vehicle does.

This begs the question though: if you do have to pay just as much attention to the road with these semi-automated systems as you would driving a regular car, then what’s the point of it? If it’s just as easy/hard (depending on your perspective) to drive a car without these assists, why spend the extra money on them?

I got sick of the eternally sagging headliner in my dad’s Dodge W-250 and took a stapler to it. Worked better than I’d expected, to be honest.

I see that you have also driven in Florida.

Another vote for chicken tax.  It really stifled American ingenuity on small trucks.

While civil asset forfeiture isn’t specifically automotive, it so often involves cars I think it should count here.

It is way too easy to get your driver’s license in this country. We need laws that requires more skills behind the wheel and actually keep checking our driving skills well into old age. Just one day of driving around Florida will demonstrate the need for better driver training for new and older drivers.

Chicken Tax!!

Cocaine is for the rich, meth is for everyone else.

For the record, I accidentally wrote “Oil Fitler” in my initial draft, and I’m not sure why I changed it given how badly this filter wants to ruin lives.

That, my friends, is how you quickly and accurately identify a fascist.

If this website is a disgrace, be a fucking adult and stop reading it. Good lord you’re pathetic.

The solution is to brick these damn things.

This is a technology so rife with abuse it should never be allowed. It is only going to get worse. Just wait till a serial killer uses this.

VW having problems with electronics and software? Quelle surprise!

Disagree strongly, the “R” word in this case used in a derogatory sense is not acceptable. As a father of a beautiful girl who has Down Syndrome it breaks my heart to read comments like this. Imagine if someone said that idea is so “Abby”. I can’t change your comment, but maybe in the future you can think about how

The grille seems to have survived relatively intact.

Jiffy Lube once drained the gear lube out of my transmission and then forgot to put fresh gear lube in.

Didn’t he write Dracula ?
