Before the Hops escalation of the early oughts, IPAs were not bad. Some were off balance, but many were decent and drinkable. The Hops Wars really ruined APIs for me and I haven’t had one in years. I don’t even bother. I’ve always been a malty ale kind of guy anyway.

Well said, i was not blaming the IPAs. my problem is, that balance, i go to a brewpub and of the 15 things tap only 1 is NOT an IPA. That is my problem.
