Same (on the Teutonic background and preferences) but I’ve had IPAs that I thought were decent.

I’m familiar with this. I remember being at a brewery where they had 2 selections that weren’t IPAs (a stout and a Pilsner) and even those 2 styles were over hopped. I happen to prefer a good pilsner over most other styles (not a Budweiser or the like, but a good strong Czech Pilsner) and people act like you’re some…
Too much of a Fancy Lad
I think IPAs get unfairly blamed for what the craft/micro brewery culture did to them. At some point it was like a dick measuring contest to see who could put the most hops into a beer. Beer is about balance and flavor, not “Quintuple EXXXXXTREEEEME Hops!!!!!!!” It’s like having a competition for who can put the most…
One quibble, Luke: “And a whole Ying/Yang balance to maintain” If you’re referring to the Taoist idea of polar opposites in dynamic tension, the phrase is Yin Yang. Ying Yang is, like, slang for a butthole. Yin Yang is the Dark/Light, Female/Male, duality thing.
As a copy editor in a previous career, it’s not quite that simple. For example: In an article on Ben Roethlisberger on NFL.com he was described as “statuesque”, which in context of the article was pointing out his immobility in the pocket. However, Statuesque is a term descriptive of a tall, dignified, attractive…
Hahaha...you think they employ copy editors? If they do they should be fired, possibly publicly executed for crimes against language. This is the case across all GMG/whatever they call themselves, with the possible exception of Gizmodo.
This is a very narrow and 1 sided way of interpreting that question. It suggests that you (as a company) always assume you are correct and fair in your handling of performance issues.
Just wanted to add: Tipping out isn’t normally done the way it’s described in this article. At nearly every restaurant I’ve worked the tip out procedure is something like 5-10% of your alcohol sales to the bar, 5-10% or so of total sales to the bussers. Some times hostesses are included, most times not. Tipping out…
Or Nathan Explosion buys it as a paperweight.
A font of fascinating information as usual, Claire. I read your articles when I see them regardless of whether I’m interested in the title/subject and I’m always glad I did. You rock!
I appreciate the effort, dude.
I think Pete’s got the reach advantage, and my guess is Kanye is all talk and no walk.
Shhh...you’re ruining the narrative!
As someone who has been looking forward (hoping, actually, as it was only recently announced) for Deep Rock Galactic to come to PS, I’m pretty happy. I don’t own an XBOX and have little desire to play a co-op game on PC (all my gaming friends are on PS). I would have paid $40+ for DRG alone, but I’ve gotten way more…
Deep Rock Galactic coming to PS4 and PS5 on the 4th of January. Rock and Stone!!
Hmmmm. Sounds like EXACTLY what “they” would say if these worked and were stopping the nefarious machinations of the lizard people and JFK jr.
Spot on. Shrooms (done in the correct set and setting) might be one of the best hopes for humanity. It’s a real shame the War on Drugs basically shut down research, criminalized use, and spread all manner of lies regarding our mycological angels. Here’s to hoping for a new, enlightened era!
Why would you get mad at the waiters?
The higher wages are still low for a job that expects a huge amount of physical and emotional labor. The problem is they’ve gotten away with it for so long they feel like they are entitled to employees willing eat shit for little pay.
