And the fact that they were red, white, and blue is just peak Chevrolet.

Yes my ‘64 Corvair is fully optioned with backup lights. The bottom level ‘500' spec had aluminum ‘pie plate’ blanking discs. Naturally they have now become the in accessory! Backup lights were federally mandated starting in 1966.

rear fog lights are always only on one side. otherwise they would just be brighter tail lights.

They even took out the reverse gear to save weight and get better fuel economy. They sold those extra gears to Ryan Gosling and he put them into his Mustang so he could out run the bad guy in reverse.

Postal vehicles don’t reverse. Ever. If they overshoot your house, you just don’t get the mail that day.

Never be topped??? I SAY TO YOU HARRRUMPH SIR

^^^So much this^^^

I think you’re selling the Comptech livery way short. They didn’t just partner for the 91 season, they won the championship for three straight years in IMSA, 91-92-93 in pretty dominating fashion in some of the most memorable schemes of the era. With engines they were developing themselves, I might add!

Lowenbrau and Michelobe are in no-man’s land: even Heinikken now. They used to be the step up from Bud and Miller, but now the large-scale craft brew took over. Those brands are middled-out.

Ummm, hello?

It does indeed exist but not widely available in the states. Never looked for it but probably can get at one of the Big Box liquor stores. Or go to Canada

That Wynn’s AMG GT is the shit.

It’s too bad this seems to be the one place where there’s not gonna be a new Supra, because this would have been a great opportunity to bring this colourway back:

Would it be too much to ask for a serious comparo with this? I’m cross-shopping the two for 2020 and saving up.

I’d ask for the 240SX. Why did Nissan decide they needed a sports car under the Z series? Why do the coupes wear the same nose as the hatchbacks when they are different cars in Japan? There must be a multitude of great stories in that car.

I’ll admit personal bias because I own one, but Mk1 VW Rabbit Pickup (aka Caddy). It was one of a few number of front-wheel drive pickups ever sold, and the first foreign car manufactured in the US (Westmoreland PA). I imagine that the “chicken tax” had a lot to do with it, but would love to hear more details!

Audi Quattro.

Maybe the VW Corrado? I owned one and I still don’t know where it came from. I’ve heard the sirracco was the influence, but I’m not sold

Unlikely suggestion: Suzuki X90.
