I agree with your strategy, although I'd add that a weaker performer should stick to well-known celebs. I'd never heard of Gigi Gorgeous, but all I could tell from Farrah's imitation was that she's probably a YouTube celeb, possibly reviewing makeup? With a well-known celebrity most viewers can fill in the blanks…
Alba has spoken English a couple times before. I think there was a Jane dream sequence where she spoke English, and when she's interacting with non-Spanish speakers.
My local radio station played the song when it was released and had people guess who the artist was.
I would agree that the movie and TV industry as a whole often has a myopic view about what it is to be black. But specific to this movie, I'm not sure why they wouldn't want a bi-racial women as a lead role. Sam is bi-racial and her story is about figuring out her identity as both black and white. Coco grew up on the…
Not sure if you've watched this show, but Episode 4 addresses some of your points. If you've seen it, did you think it still fell short of the mark?
Denis O'Hare, if you're goal is to win my heart, mission accomplished. Candis, delightful as always.
You mean you haven't yet built the wall to keep us out? Better hurry up before we start flooding in…
Where do y'all find Untucked? I keep looking on the YouTube and I only see janky bootlegs of it. WoW doesn't have it yet.
The baby daddy came up with the name.
But will it reach Dream On or NNTN levels of forgettability?
What frustrates about Nina is that she got picked to play Khloe, who has a lot of personality (unlike a number of the other roles that have nothing but looks). I feel for her and what she's going through, but she put herself in the bottom with her drama.
Well, at least the guy didn't say the set is "tremendous"…?
Yeah, as if to give her son some kind of connection to his father.
Except I don't think she was mature so much as playing at being the "loyal friend" like she was a "musician" or the other things she's pretended to be as she hides from figuring out what she wants. I mean, she is a friend to Hannah but she's there to hide out.
Marnie wasn't done maturing yet. She was hiding out in upstate NY instead of being back in the city, dating Weehawken guy, and figuring out what to do with her life.
I was impressed that a biography about Hefner somehow had too much gratuitous sex. I expected sex, but gratuitous??? I was also struck by the psychobabble of "gee, my parents were cold fishes so I banged everything that moved" theme. OK…??
What struck me was Kendra twerking 24/7 before it was mainstream. And eventually, how sad/funny it was that Holly thought she'd be the next Mrs Hefner.
I think his cluelessness comes from the comic book.
S4E18: What Goes Around Comes Around is one of my faves, because as a counterpoint to Hi IQ it's where Kelly comes through for Bud and his revenge.
