I thought this was way better than Luca, which was perfectly charming but very inconsequential. I am biased cuz I will pretty much like any sci-fi/space movie with cool ships/armor/time travel

I watched it last night and you’re pretty much spot on. It’s better a=than any of the recent star wars movies/shows by such a huge margin it’s hard to even compare them. It starts a little slow but once you get past that this is “the movie the toy Buzz is based on” it really clicks into gear and has some really great…
Maybe it’s because I went in with low expectations but I really enjoyed it. They packed in a bunch of high concept sci-fi stuff and most of the fan service is done well enough that it’s actually somewhat affecting. Not Pixar’s best and there are some awkward moments, but definitely up with Turning Red for best of…

The real Lararus pit is comic book plot-lines, as basically characters only stay dead until a new writer wants to do something with them. This just makes it possible in-world in a pretty unique and high concept way
I think if marvel is smart they would base the MCU x-men on House of X (specifically starting with issue 2, and a little rearranging of plot here and there.) It even fits into their multiverse stuff pretty perfectly and could explain why everything is pretty much the same but different
I think modern audiences are more advanced so the stories have to be longer. We’ve seen the heroes journey played out so many times at this point there is some necessary setup and subversion that has to happen that inevitably adds to the run time
That makes sense Dr. Strange got rewritten because it really didn’t make much sense. I was especially disappointed because the show runner from Loki wrote Dr. Strange so I unfortunately got my hopes up they were going to be connected
I thought it was building to something with the multiverse since that’s been a prominent aspect in so many storylines since Spider-man far from home (the first post endgame movie) but they cheesed it so hard with Dr. Strange 2 and none of that stuff came to a head at all or was really even related in any way.
I really love marvel and most of the mcu... but they really need to chill with these shows. Marvel officially peaked with endgame, and now they’re just flailing.
Running a cartoon monkey by Disney’s animal consultants, as they would for any primate inclusions is just about the funniest thing I’ve seen today. Absolutely soul crushingly hilarious.
his last special sucked. Terrible shit that isn’t even jokes
Especially since the “avatar” is a title that gets passed on similar to James Bond. The world is still familiar but can be tweaked in fun ways and people are already invested without nearly as much fear as ruining what came before
I really hope it’s not. Not that I didn’t enjoy the comics, but I hope they dont StarWars avatar. This world is built to create new stories.
They are. Nickelodeon partnered with the creators back in 2020 to create Avatar studios. I guess this is what theyve been cooking up in the intervening years.
I read a lot of the EU books back in the day, but do you really think that the majority of fans care about that stuff? As much as I enjoyed it back then, I dont think much of it would hold up as a movie either (not that they pulled that off anyways so maybe it’s a moot point.)
Can’t wait to find out what happen to Admiral Ackbar after he got exploded in the Last Jedi. Oh, it’s exactly what you expect would happen with no additional creativity or original storytelling ideas added in? I’m shocked!
I think the majority of fans actually don’t want anything new, even if they said differently. There is a very narrow view for what star wars is, but I do wonder if Disney has worn it into the ground hard enough that even some of those fans might be ready for something else. The reason I like Waititi so much is that he…
If the disney trilogy had left it with Kylo Ren being Han/Leia’s son with a cameo from luke, that is more than enough fan service. The one thing those movies did right was making a new cast of characters that could absolutely stand on their own without constant nods to the past. Unfortunately they burned it to the…
I’ll never argue that The Good Dinosaur is a good movie, but I also don’t think it’s bad. I think most of the individual moments are even entertaining, it just never coalesced into something meaningful. If that is Pixar’s worst movie then they really are unassailable.
