CN hasn’t really made a hit since adventure time. I think as internet-popular as Steven Universe was, that still had a pretty niche audience too

I’m doubtful but hopefully they spent the entire pandemic coming up with enough EXCITING storylines for all this added run time to be worth it. It wouldn’t be the first streaming show to take two episodes worth of plot and stretch it over two seasons. The biggest red flag in all of this is that the characters are all…
I think there are a handful of netflix shows that have done this more or less successfully. Maniac and Master of None come to mind, but I’m sure there are more.
There’s still the occasional gem here and there, and though they find newer lows every season, it is still the best animated show “on tv”
I agree with everything you’re saying, but I would add that part of her writing/process/’brand’ is to take everything a little too far. Her character’s could’ve just stopped talking and everything would have been fine, but they can’t help themselves. The series finale is the perfect example of this. They could’ve…
I’m actually with him on this. Seems like a rare position to say this openly because you know a lot of filmmakers must agree but are afraid of the repercussions
I’ve lost faith in marvel shows to ever stick their landing. I love the MCU but they are doing too much. Slow down and get this stuff right instead of filling up disney + with content
I also don’t follow too closely either (star wars fans are typically an erratic, infuriating bunch) but I don’t think anyone over the age of 11 loved Rise of Skywalker and most people rightfully view it as a raging dumpster fire of a movie
I still love Girls and have rewatched it all the way through at least once, but everything she’s done since hasn’t interested me at all. This looks promising though. Fingers crossed.
I think Star Wars fans deserved Rise of Skywalker.
It’s by far the best of all the disney star wars stuff and I 100% include mandolorian in that too
I really hate this take and the fact that Fiege prioritizes reshoots to nail character moments over perfect effects is perhaps the most hopeful thing I’ve ever heard an exec say.
This episode is such a good course correction. I’m not saying this season has been bad by any stretch, but it wasn’t non-stop hits like previous seasons. Let’s hope they can keep up this quality and tension for the remaining four episodes.
The actor who played Han was in fact bad, but she is still definitely learning the wrong lesson to stop scraping the bottom of the barrel for any line of dialogue that can be expanded out to it’s own feature film
The reason being is that writers often don’t come up with visual gags, therefore “creatives” is more appropriate. Unless the script came more from an ‘auteur’ creative type, the writer only wrote the dialogue that came out of the characters mouths, and even that often gets changed during the process by people who…
If I had faced the wrath of star wars fans, I would focus on other projects too
I also don’t know how the “husband being bored of his nice wife” would’ve played if he had been cast. The way it played out with Yeoh and Quan felt very original and a little subversive. Not saying that it couldn’t be done well, but that’s tip toeing into every dude standup that complains about their wife
I remember that Good Dinosaur was a behind the scenes wreck and had to be re-written multiple times. Fingers crossed that was a fluke and they have a more cohesive vision for this one
John Krazinski was very clearly acting at a tennis ball in this scene so this definitely tracks
I liked this a lot but also feel like they accomplished what they set out too. I’d watch another season for sure but wasn’t dying for one either.
