This looks so good. I dont have anything clever to say, just I can’t wait to check it out.

Interesting to see so many people pooping on season 3, as I thought it was a remarkable improvement over season 2 (season 1 still being by far the best).
But isn’t their overuse an inherent quality of their existence? Obviously most adults can moderate sugar intake but our brains are designed to absolutely lose it when we eat/drink sugar. I guess maybe I don’t see the net negativity of crypto, except that as of now if you’re foolish you can lose a lot of money in it,…
I’m genuinely wondering, because there was pepsi logos plastered everywhere during the event, is crypto really that much worse than sugary beverages in terms of net negativity for society? Or is it just that it’s weird and new?
I haven’t heard the album yet so I’ll reserve judgement, but based on the singles this album leans more Puberty 2 than Be the Cowboy, which to me is a good thing. I like this version of Mitski.
I’m still a big fan. Season 2 felt like there was an adjustment period without PWB, but overall both seasons 2&3 have been good. I’m still very intrigued
I think an ‘A’ means something is genuinely good, and you should watch it. For stuff like this or Boba Fett mentioned above, a ‘B+’ means it is entirely serviceable and you may even like it if you’re into that kinda thing.
I enjoyed inferno as a work of “what could have been if everything went right.” if reality hadn’t intervened The event itself was hurt because it was only 4 issues and you can only do so much in 4 issues, and he was leaving x-men universe in the hands of people who may or may not hold up his vision. It did enough for…
pretty decent list overall! I would’ve argued for Jonathan Hickman’s inferno (although it is unfinished, which I guess is disqualifying,) Sakamoto Days, or Kaiju #8 belonging on this list, but I’m just glad Fujimoto made the cut!
I disagree with Cena in the role but agree with your take on the role itself. I think he did great with what he was given, but of all the characters worthy of a spin-off he makes the least sense to me. Early reviews are good though, so here’s hoping.
She is too bad of an actress to really blow up, not even accounting for horrible opinions.
Cena was incredible in Trainwreck. I know he was already huge at that point, but he clicked as an undeniable star in that movie in a way that that the Rock never did for me (other than his 5 minute cameo in the Other Guys)
I think my problem was that TASM was more or less beat for beat the same as Toby McGuire’s Spider-Man in terms of major story beats. There are a lot of great details in the movie and the acting, but as a fan wanting to see a different story than the one we’ve seen over and over, it definitely failed.
This is exciting and a little weird. I love the comic, the movie and the studio adapting it is probably my favorite animation studio right now. I just cant imagine what they’re going to do with it other than make a straightforward adaptation.
I think a good example of this would be the show “the Great” on hulu, which I love. The first episode is not amazing. It is not a perfect pilot, but it is so damn interesting. It knows who it’s characters are, and what they want, and has a lot of fun a long the way. I think it’s not till episode 2 or 3 where the show…
Unfortunately with a pilot this sloppy and unformed, the answer to whether they will do a good job developing the story is almost certainly no, they will not.
To use the comfort food analogy, this is like comfort food left out overnight and you realize how bland and tasteless it really is. McDonalds tastes good when it is fresh, but biting into that bun a day later is... not good. He is using the best of the best as examples but his core argument is correct unfortunately.…
You are spot on. Really disappointing how absolutely bland and directionless this was. I am on the same wavelength that the only thing that makes Mandolorian interesting is baby yoda and high production value, and this only has high production value. I don’t think there was one single memorable moment in this pilot.
I see your point, but I visit this site every day and I’ve never heard of most of these movies. After reading their descriptions though, most of them sound great and like I would really enjoy them! I can’t wait to somehow watch most of these films.
I can’t wait to watch Drive my Car. I’ve always been a big Murakami fan but assumed it was impossible to translate his work to the screen.
