My buddy lived north of there in Essex and commutes to the DC area. His commute time more than tripled.

I call BS on the numbers. ”lead being the direct cause for around 151 million cases of psychiatric disorder,”

Coming from a guy who doesn’t much care for SUVs, The GV80 is a very good looking vehicle, better than any BMW and Mercedes SUV in the looks department imo. A concept, but wow I could be seen in this:

I can’t imagine how you could not determine that a vehicle didn’t fit you on an extended test drive. Unless you didn’t bother to do one. Which would make you an idiot.

Now playing

Let me introduce you to the man who killed the most people in history all for sake of taking care of engines’ knocking.

The Genesis owner wants to trade in his GV80 because he says it’s uncomfortable.”

Glad they’re getting it fixed, but I really hope this doesn’t impede the continued rollout of bus lane parking enforcement in NYC. One inconsiderate ahole can materially slow down the commute for an entire bus full of passengers, if the bus has to merge out of the bus lane and then back in again. We should let people

Fun fact (okay, maybe not so fun): Thomas Midgely, who played a key role in developing leaded gasoline, also invented Freon and many other harmful CFCs. It is very likely that no other single person has had such a long-lasting and deleterious effect on the environment.

Remember, NHTSA says pedal confusion accidents happen 44 times per day in the US. But we should first blame the Tesla, then read the car’s logs, then we can blame the victim driver for mashing the go pedal instead of the stop pedal. :)

Chevy Volt drivers did 75% of miles on electricity. As long as people are able to plug in, they will.

Where I live, there isn’t enough charging infrastructure for me to justify a pure EV. I will have to compromise for now.

I guess we can call it baby steps.  Going EV is way too radical for most Americans, so as long as there’s an ICE engine in there to make up for the average American’s refusal to consider changing their fueling habits, they’re fine.  Now, if the manufacturers would only drop hybrids in favor of a total line-up of

I’d like to think that a key contributor to hybrids becoming more popular is that they are so much better than hybrids of the past. These aren’t anemic Prius of the past.

I really like my new PHEV. A cheap lease and gasoline free motoring for short trips to town. It takes a little planning to keep the charge up but it’s not too difficult.

I get what you are saying but I think the only reason people are paying attention to this particular hunger strike is its level of absurdity. I think this borders on hilarious that these people are not eating in response to not getting what they wanted for seemingly simple and reasonable explanations.

Exactly. Venturing into the Antarctic on a ship with one functioning engine — especially on what amounts to a passenger-carrying joy-ride – would be gross negligence on the cruise line. They’d probably get sued out of business even if they didn’t end up stranded and needing a multi-million dollar rescue.

“I’m not going to eat their food, which I’ve more or less already paid for. That’ll show ‘em!”

I’m more of the “wreak havoc and make the fuckers pay” school of protest, rather than the “make myself suffer and watch them ignore me” train of thought.

Let the fucks starve. Fucking first world problems.
