As a JK owner with way to many mods, they are not bad for reliability, but don’t expect (old school) Toyota level’s of reliability. They can be a lot of fun to drive, but especially with a family you are trading safety for a “fun to drive” car. (lower handling limits, longer stopping distance, more prone to roll over,

$3.3K a MONTH? And no 5th wheel? Jesus, for that kind of money I could go buy a new fully loaded Kenworth W900 AND any trailer I want, so I could go out and MAKE money instead of pissing it away on some God awful obnoxious Hummer.

Why learn when it seems like way too many people are okay with hoping the government bails them out when things go south?   It’s similar to how everyone started buying Prius’ when gas hit around $4-$5/gallon in 2008.  It took about 1 year to revert back to buying even bigger SUV/CUVs.   American’s have the attention

Well, you did, so there’s that! (jokes!)

I was once a mechanic and the number of 6 figure car drivers that are running around with bald tires and begging their mechanic to put in cheap regular oil instead of synthetic oil is insane. Half of these guys don’t have 2 dimes to rub together.

If you are in the US, assuming that the debt is yours and not jointly owed with a spouse, your debt dies with you. Of course, any assets of your estate may have to go to settle the debt, but it’s not your next of kin’s responsibility to pay it per se.

Never underestimate what can happen at the intersection of severe entitlement and financial illiteracy.

I suspect that this person Anthony has a sever learning or cognitive disability because I can’t fathom how someone can make such poor financial decisions back-to-back. Sure, I like to drive fun, unique, and fast cars but I would never overpay (or even pay retail) for anything just to satisfy an itch. I have a friend

Just because he’s an idiot doesn’t mean he’s subprime. In fact, I would argue that this guy probably has absolutely platinum-plated diamond-studded credit for any lender to write this deal in the first place, and at *only* 10% at that. That is astounding given the level of negative equity here.

Nobody buying a Wrangler cares about efficiency.

Few co-workers of mine have the 4Xe Wrangler. There was a local dealer for a while between state/fed tax rebates and dealer incentives loaded 4xe was cheaper than a low-option gasser. So, everyone went out and bought them. Can’t blame them. So far, normal Jeep stuff. Lots of little issues but nothing that keeps em

Of course he wants out. But he used up his “wants” when he committed to massively overspending on the car and rolling in negative equity from cars he probably rolled negative equity on as well. Now his need is to suck it up and pay off the car.

Also, spending money is not synonymous with wealth.

My wife and I were just talking about this on a walk through our very lower end middle class neighborhood. The economy is supposedly so bad, but in two blocks I counted 4 houses with $60,000+ full size pickups purchased this year. Some were probably more like $80k+. One of the dumpiest houses had a brand new Accord as

It certainly confirms my notions about the mental capacity of Hummer drivers.

It Takes an Army of Engineers to Make a Self-Driving Car Pretend to Self-Drive.

Makes it all the more important.

Not saying that as a nation they are particularly warm to outsiders, but their relationship with China is particularly - let’s call it “delicate”- going both ways. And for really good reasons.

Sure, you can eat and drive manually or you can screw with a phone and drive manually. But you can’t give anywhere near as much attention to the distractions if you still have to control the car. Your reaction time is going to be better than if the car CAN “drive itself” - until it can’t.

People that drive distracted with driver assistance systems are the same people that drove distracted before driver assistance systems. People eating in the car? That’s never happened before! Talking or texting while driving? Certainly a new phenomenon that can only be blamed on new car technology.
