Yup, especially from a brand that isn’t established like Chevy, Toyota, or Mercedes.

I’ll bite, tell me how a 500 mile car is a “good thing”? Like what is the delta between a 350 mile car and a 500 mile car? I still can’t do the drive from my in-laws to my house in a day on the 500 mile car. That is 850 miles. (yes we stop, but is the goal fast charging while taking breaks? or being able to road trip

I’m not a denialist but I don’t like EVs and don’t plan to have one for at least another 20+ years. This is most definitely not a bad thing, I would just say it’s not all that groundbreaking. It’s got a big battery with a low CoD, and he put it on cruise with no traffic and no other big battery-using electronics, so

I love adaptive in certain situations, like really heavy interstate traffic where passing is just not an option a lot of the time. Open highway, I’d rather have traditional. Fortunately, it’s super easy to switch between the two on Hondas: hold down the cruise button for 2 seconds. Lane control: also nice. A simply

Same. I wouldnt necessarily mind it for more congested areas, but simple old cruise is good for me.  I ride a bike as well as drive, so cruise or not, i watch every other dipshit on the road with me like a hawk.  The only time its bothersome is when someones throttle control constantly oscillates between 5 under and

Why are the neighbours “evil”? Evil is the guy with complete disregard for others that builds a race track where whiny tiny electric engines and tire noise turn the place into a mini-Monaco whenever the guy wants to have a practice. I have a neighbour that takes his kid on a country side back road next to my house in

if you want to do this, then live out in the country where your neighbors are miles away..or go thru the govt redtape first..just another rich prick doing rich prick things

Yup.  From what I read, the go kart track was not permitted and that dad is threatening, I guess, to put in a helicopter pad if the track is removed?  It all sounds like a root-for-no-one type situation.

Not much sympathy for a guy who chose not to pull a permit. In my experience building inspectors have a high tolerance for honest mistakes, not much for obvious disrespect.

eh, jalopnik themselves are pretty flexible on outrage about environmental damage, depending on to whom it’s attributed.

Or just get the damn permits

A neighbor built a dirt bike track in his back yard. My only concern is that the kids sometimes leave the track and end up in traffic, but it’s pretty slow there. Multiple neighbors try to raise chickens. Which is also pretty cool, until the Racoons eat them all, which is sort of sad. My wife runs a doggy day care

Typical upper-crust thinking.”

Thank god I don’t live in your neighborhood.  Sounds awful.

As a Howard County resident ya the county is very rules and permit based. One rule he broke and in not in the Change.com petition is the increase in imperviousness area. Stormwater is a big deal because Old Ellicott City has been washed away recently not once but twice. He has no storm treatment for that much

Or, start the petition, and get free press from various sites picking up on its existence.  That is an option, too.

heres the petition to support the track

Guys, let’s not pretend these people are sticklers for proper permitting paperwork.  They’re worried about the noise.

also that it wasn’t designed with local wetlands in mind.

Yeah, agree. You can’t just do WHATEVER you want on your property (although now that I mention it, whatever happened to that lady who was digging a tunnel labyrinth underneath her house - and partially under her neighbors’ houses?) unless you live in the absolute middle of nowhere. You want a custom go-kart track or
