That isn't a "scope of practice" issue though, and as the other commenter said is covered by Good Samaritan laws. Ob/gyns aren't going to be seeing crash victims in their office, or in their OR, which is what these guidelines cover.

I have been to TWO baby showers that were exactly as you describe (coed, booze, chatting and mingling, gifts left in a pile and opened at home later). They were in fact glorious. Should I ever get knocked up we're doing it that way.
