My cat pokes me in the nose and pulls my hair at 6 am each morning because he wants me to get up and feed him. Even if he still has dry food out, he will wake me up because he wants his wet food.

This is the saddest story ever!!! Poor baby!
We just have ALL the carbs: mashed potatoes, yams, AND dressing. And dinner rolls. And all the pies. Nom. (the yams are actually a new-ish addition, we didn't have them when i was growing up)
I know :/
Wow. Are you still in SA? It IS so cheesy but petting the baby lions was AMAZING. They really act just like kittens, except with GIANT scary paws/claws.
+1
Idk, but if you want to fly to Johannesburg and go to the oh-so-cheesy Lion Park Safari you can PET THEM!!!!!
What about in gay men? I work in an HIV clinic and the prevalence of body image issues and eating disorders is pretty high.
THIS. (Except that I do not live in NJ)
Ha! Mine is actually very adept as catching and killing flies. And cockroaches, which I very much appreciate.
Thanks for making these points. I'm no longer vegetarian or vegan, and even when I was I certainly didn't think that people living in abject poverty should be vegetarian (other than out of necessity, but certainly not for any sort of moral reason). I was just making the point that if the person you are gifting is…
Agreed; however there has been a lot of criticism of whether this is really the best way to address that. Animals take a lot of work, money, and resources to sustain. And many of the vegetarians/vegans that I know would be very uncomfortable with an animal being gifted on their behalf—there are plenty of other…
Yeah... I work in psychiatry so for me reading the vignette immediately made me go "oh, this person is very likely depressed". Gender is irrelevant 1. I'm trained to evaluate symptoms and 2. my first job was in an all-men's setting, which I think helped as well.
AGREED!! The prickly just growing-in = hello uncomfortable friction! But I appreciate a nice trim.
Agreed
True.... but my cats have spent basically their entire lives inside my apt, and they still *KNOW* that they are supposed to kill/eat birds. They spot a bird out the window and go into full-on tracking mode.
If they are really, truly that selfless it might be nice to just get them something for themselves—-a spa gift certificate comes to mind...
...unless they're vegetarian or vegan, in which case they may get uber offended that you gifted an animal on their behalf.
I spent plenty of time "pre-partying" in my life and don't have issues with it. Sometimes I also like to drink alcohol and get drunk! Other times I don't! I just don't see why it's "crazy" that some people might go to a bar sober and leave sober. Sometimes I just want to have a beer, catch up with my friends, and…
When I was growing up my mom stayed home and did all of the "woman-y" housework stuff while my dad worked and took care of the lawn. I used to get annoyed by this division of labor, but hey, it was how they decided to do things. NOW however, since there are no kids at home, my dad has become much more proactive…
