Preppers would have condoms in their stocks. All sorts of handy survival tricks condoms are useful for, not just their intended purpose.
Well said, and hear hear!
This is really insightful, thank you
The way she sort of argued about him letting her walk away bothered me a bit. Not at Bates Motel, at the character. She was genuinely terrified he was going to kill her, and told him he'd lost his mind - when the kidnapper gives you a chance to escape, don't argue with him that it's cold out there! Go!
I actually quite like Romero, and enjoyed his love story with Norma. But I can admit he's a murderer. You deny Norman any sympathy because he has a mental illness, but applaud Romero for the same actions that Norman took. Just deal with that.
We'll have to agree to disagree on this one then ;-) I can't wait to see how they wrap everything up the finale, and while I'm not a shipper, I do hope Dylan and Emma can work things out (and both survive the finale!)
You're just being faced with your own hypocrisy. You have zero empathy for someone suffering a terrible mental illness, and are indifferent to his suffering, but you applaud Romero for committed cold blooded murder. deal with it.
That did send a chill down my spine
Legally, he is a very solid case for not guilty by reason of insanity. That verdict was designed for just such cases. That doesn't mean "he didn't do anything wrong", it means he was insane - and should be locked up, likely for the rest of his days, in an asylum for the criminally insane.
Okay, I am done now, because yet again, you've lied and said people are saying he should be running around free. And you dodged yet again the point that Romero has done exactly those things as well, without having a mental illness complicating things, yet you think he's wonderful and heroic because he makes you pant.
Of course Norman needs to be institutionalised, he and Norma/n are part of the same fractured psyche.
Sympathising with Norman as a very, very screwed up and seriously mentally ill person doesn't mean thinking he's a good, innocent, soul who should be free to frolic in the fields "because it's not his fault". You said earlier in the thread that because people feel sorry for Norman that they want him to get off…
My we're cynical, aren't we? A two year age gap between legal adults seems an odd thing to get het up over, but you do you to :-)
I understand Emma's anger at the loss of her mother - yes her mother was a useless mother her abandoned her, and those things aren't easy to just shake off. Kids who've experienced abandonment often feel hugely conflicted about the abandoning parent, even more so when they become parents themselves, as Emma just has.…
He hired the lawyer before they had any confirmation about Emma's mother's body though
Excellent point, and they wouldn't check dental records without her being a missing person.
It's so strange to me that you deny Norman any sympathy whatsoever, not letting his illness affect how you view him or his actions at all -" Norman is not a "good guy", somebody who has killer instincts is not intrinsically good."
i don't think you understand mental illness. Sick people don't consciously create their murderous mother personas. He has done terrible things as a result of an illness. People aren't intrinsically good or evil. You seem to have very polar views.. black/white, good/evil. But people are more complex than that.
writing true crime is one thing, helping them care for the hostage they have in their basement is crossing a few lines..
