@Mike: Thanks for taking the time to clarify. It's totally understandable. I was just talking about that with my friend the other day. High performance cars have gotten to be so equal these days that it really is hard to draw any distinctions or make comparisons by simply playing the numbers. They all go 0-60 in

@Mike: True, I did hack the quote out for brevity purposes, perhaps unfairly. My main point is that 4.7 seconds is freaking quick. 5.1 being considered standard fare is a bit shocking. My car does it in 4.7 seconds, and the last time I checked, flat 13 second quarter miles are considered to be a property of a

"federal regulators aren't keen to let people customize their own sounds just yet."

Not every car can be an M5 fighter, and not every car should be. Who would honestly use this, or even expect to be able to use this, for canyon carving? 0-60 in 5.1 is very respectable for a luxury barge, and from what I have seen, it feels very comfortable and solid. I did chuckle at the razor analogy though...

This is from the same guy who said the 4.7 second 0-60 of the 1M was lackluster as well. Methinks test driving many high level performance cars on a regular basis makes one a bit jaded...

Poetic?

@Jim: Oh, I totally agree. I was using it for the joke, but my project car is actually a 242DL that is getting a turbo motor (B21FT) and a manual transmission (M46). The plans are eventually to do a mild and reliable build to get about 250hp to the wheels.

I went to Ikea and tried to find that Porsche, (got lost twice while looking for the exit) but in the end I had to settle for this. Maybe I will try one of the other locations later.

For that 20 miles or less, he was free.

Gulf. Bikini...

@LuckyChuck: This. Thank you.

Yeah, I would hate to kill performance with my face. Fortunately I practice regular facial moisturizing through the aforementioned technique, so my skin should be good and healthy at that age.

True... it does take quite a bit for a man to pull off a proper pink shirt.

Well, in that case, I guess I'm not all bad then. ;)

0_0... You know... I want to respond to that, but I honestly don't know how...

@Anitesh: Awesome Gladiator reference!

Two of my favorite automotive things, visible in one image... An Aston Martin, and Gulf livery.

$1.00 per pedestrian

LOL, I didn't see this yesterday, but this is the comment they are referring to: [jalopnik.com]

@wpardy: A couple friends of mine who are into bikes have about $20k worth of bikes between them, and they make less than $50k each.
