It’s part of the trademarking that makes it “monopoly”. The 4 corners need to remain the same. Vs the “opoly” knock off games out there. 

Don't use house rules (money on free parking, granting immunities etc.) use the auctions and Monopoly can be the fun game of annihilating everyone that it's meant to be... and won't take forever.
