And this raises another problem related to Cafe. It stops at a GVWR of 8500 lbs.

Do these “poor people all over the world” drive “family” trucks that can tow a fully laden travel trailer at 80mph? How about a HD pickup where at 5'9", the hood comes to my nipples and obscures everything but the top half inch on my mothers 5'3" head, not to mention much smaller children?

How about just taxing vehicles based on some equation of weight and engine displacement? This might also reduce stupidly overpowered cars from the hands of young inexperienced drivers who swung a great lease deal.

“Police responded Feb. 17 to a vehicle crash on Old Route 73 in Bruceton Mills, according to a criminal complaint. When a trooper arrived, he stated that he saw a Chevrolet Equinox parked in the westbound lane. The trooper also found the bicyclist, Robin Ames, lying dead in front of the vehicle, according to police.

there are poor people all over the world where they have high gas taxes and yet they somehow still survive.  thats a weak ass arguement.

Nope. Just because bicyclists are subject to the same laws as motor vehicles does not mean that they don’t have right-of-way. Every state I’ve been licensed to drive in specifically states that bikes have right of way over cars, while also saying that they are subject to the same laws as motor vehicles.

Think about it

Given what you do for a living, how frequently do you see people who should be hanging onto cars for five or six years just decide to flip into a new vehicle with little equity value in a car?  I mean if you’re going to live the rest of your life with a car payment why not just lease?

Many cities require bikes to ride in the road and reserve sidewalks for pedestrians. Bikers in the road are usually road bikes going 20+mph, where it is significantly less safe to try and dodge pedestrians and strollers on the sidewalk. Interestingly enough, biking in the city is rarely a concern - it’s usually the

Fun fact: those “entitled asshats” actually have the right-of-way

So to put it in simple english. People are buying new cars in the US on a loan while still being in debt and having next to no savings?

Spending 6.5 years paying for a Kia is the most depressing thing I can think of.

Very good way to put it.

That article makes a facile point. What it leaves out is that most Americans have NO job security and are paid so little they cannot afford ANY deductions from their paychecks. And that what 401k they do have are often tapped for emergencies and during recessions.

65 years, 5% annual rate *AFTER INFLATION* , gives $1 million in todays dollars only if you start with $41,945 dollars.  And being a millionaire isn't enough.  I'm a millionaire,  and no way I can retire soon.

In Venezuela, the Ford Ka was only offered with the 1.6 engine.

The same 1.6 engine that was offered in the Ford Fiesta and the base Ford Focus.

If Americans were any good at even basic math, the entire economy would collapse overnight due to lack of bad purchases.

The charging network is what breaks the deal. Tesla built the whole package and I don’t understand why other automkers don’t follow. If Volvo creates its Volvo-Polestar charging network it will help hteir cause more than any marketing trick

That’s always been my problems with these “off-road” ready campers and overlanding vehicles. Their size and weight makes it very difficult to do a lot of backwoods off-roading, even if they have the hardware to do so. You’re wasting money, complexity, and weight on stuff that will barely be used. It doesn’t take a

Maybe you are too ‘American’ sized.

“More intangibly, though, the Polestar 2 is objectively cooler
