The same can be said about any natural disaster. Good luck finding fuel.

To me the Tahoe and Yukon and any other large SUV is an Uber. And yes, the interior is worn out after a few years.
I think there will be a tipping point where prices continue to drop and oil producers are incentivized to cheat quotas, leading to a glut of supply and crashing prices. Many of the oil producing countries are in a constant state of turmoil.
Talk is cheap.
one of the challenges Tesla faced early on was road noise. Without the loud ICE to drown it out, it because much more noticeable, which is why they worked with tire manufacturers to come up with the foam tire insulation.
I’ve owned several EVs and don’t have tire wear problems for that very reason - I drive it like a normal car. I don’t need to be the first off the line.
I did a search on autotempest and a 2018 model 3 peformance in silver with 51k miles is for sale for $25k.
It depends on how it’s driven. Drive a fast car fast, and one should expect to replace tires more frequently. Thats not unique to EVs.
“I think if you broke out sensitive microphones, the statement that EVs are quieter than ICEs would be proven false for all situations.”
Can you site a source? Reports from even a week ago say it is not eligible.
I think Honda beat them to the punch on the Hybrid, but they were very early.
I would disagree that Toyota has always been a conservative company. Years ago they took risks that made them the leader they are today.
It’s important to make an apples to apples comparison. A similarly equipped prologue to a model Y LR is $53k. So starting price is already $4k more. Range on the prologue is 280-something, and the Y LR is 310, a 10% difference. HP on the prologue is 290-something, on the Y LR is 380 or 390.
If you haven’t already, I would recommend sitting in one and doing a test drive. I like the external styling because it is quite different, however I couldn’t get past the interior dimensions. It’s very high quality, but the way it is laid out makes it feel much smaller than it really is.
The snippet from Automotive News is misleading. Total registrations for Q3 and Q4 were lower than Q2, however overall EV registrations in CA were up 46% in 2023.
4th gear: I’ve followed Automotive News for years, but I’m starting to see more and more bias in their reporting. They mention the Q3 and Q4 decline in California EV registrations, but fail to mention that total EV registrations in California grew by 46% in 2023.
has there been any issues with BYD as a whole? I’m sure the Chinese Government makes sure major issues are kept hush hush, but I don’t exactly hear anything bad with them.
Chinese cars have permeated nearly every country, except the U.S.
I agree and doing so requires investment in public transportation and/or restructuring city and town layouts. While it would benefit society as a whole, one political party in the U.S. actively blocks these types of changes.
Yeaaa but the fact that they caught up in terms of performance and everything in such a short time is pretty impressive.
