I believe that censoring someone is telling them that they cannot say something. Telling them their opinion is stupid and that they should shut up is exactly the same kind of protected speech. Does it further the discussion? No, not at all, but its not censorship.

Yet yesterday, people called Donald Trump’s tweets about Hamilton “censorship.” To wit, leftists are not being locked up or thrown off campuses. Ben Shapiro certainly is, and that certainly is censorship.

Perhaps I wasn’t clear. I meant that someone like Trump, a hateful individual, using the concept of the safe space to say: you can’t criticize me. He’s taking the tools developed by people who were trying to do good, and flipping it around to oppress people.

There’s always been a difference between “shut the fuck, you’re being an idiot” and: “You can’t/don’t have a right to say something.” I’m fine with the former and despise the latter. The original idea of fighting back against casual forms of bigotry in speech was a good one.

So Cam Newton trying to not fan the flames of racial sensationalism is wrong? Bro fuck you .. People like you are the problem.

If memory serves, he had a friend murdered by gang violence when he was young, and he has a “What about black on black crime” priority as a result.

...and it officially becomes this year’s Ice Bucket Challenge.

It’s the testosterone.

Hopefully ESPN doesn’t use Lupica to host Sports Reporters now. That is one of the only shows left with some dignity.

Should it feel a bit odd/eerie that no mention of an illness was made? Kind of seems to be coming out of left field given there hadn’t been any real coverage of him being sick. Plus, ESPN had announced just last week that Saunders would be helping with coverage of the World Cup of Hockey in September.
