There are consequences on both sides. Ever heard of Curt Schilling?

In sports there is a supply and demand curve type thing going here. If Kap were Tom Brady, hell if Kap were Joe Flacco, he would have a job. But he seems to be just on the wrong end of that production/ perceived hassle curve.
YES! The timing was everything. The whole point of his protest was to make himself uncutable and it worked! As a short-term strategy it worked but in the long term he is getting screwed because of it.
His protest was neither effective or legitimate. It was nothing more then I suck at Football now (everybody know lacrosse is the real warrior sport) so I need to get attention some other way. Come on people the NFL is racist but it elevates minority players to a level of wealth most people will never be able to…
Not only does Kaepernick suck, the people who won’t acknowledge he sucks will become the ultimate thorn in the side of any team that could sign him as a back up. I’ve heard it for the past 6 years living in Houston on sports radio, the constant calls for people who don’t know shit about football “why can’t you sign…
Yeah, the TD:INT ratio has got to be the NFL version of MLB’s W-L pitching record. It tells you so little about what’s going on that it serves no purpose.
What controversial opinion did Tim Tebow voice? I don’t remember that.
Oh, they’re both terrible. Please don’t take my comment to mean that Smith is good. He is not. He is atrocious. But so is Kaepernick. I watched him a play a lot too (for whatever reason, I actually enjoy watching shitty QBs. I think it’s funny). They both suck.
No he’s not. That is just ridiculous. He threw for 6 yards in a football game last year and got outplayed by Matt Barkley before being pulled for Blaine Gabbert. He is a quality backup, nothing more.
Totally agree. And Matt Moore is a far better QB than Kaep.
It’s not unfair. The NFL is a business. Players, coaches and owners all say it. Players talk constantly about their “brand”. Kaps brand sucks. He single handedly ran fans out of the stadium in SF. Everywhere he played he was booed NONSTOP. They booed him at sports bars. Sports radio blasted him in his HOMETOWN.
The only thing good about Kaepernick’s attitude was his protest.
Right? I saw this with the new Ghostbusters movie. I could be happy that a bunch of talented female actors got roles in a reboot of a beloved classic. I could also say that the movie sucked. Because it did suck. And it would have probably sucked if they made it with Seth Rogan and Jonah Hill. Just because someone…
And he didn’t do his protest until after he was demoted. Nobody on Deadspin ever acknowledges the timing. He is getting screwed though, he’s better than most of those backups listed.
Tim dumbfuck Tebow was also blacklisted. Look, hate the league for putting up with domestic violence, but the league does not like people voicing controversial opinions.
Tom Brady had to literally avoid visiting the White House post-super bowl to avoid people thinking he was a trump supporter to avoid political…
It’s almost as if people don’t understand that two things can be equally true.
Personally, (and I guess this needs to be said) I supported Kaepernick’s decision to not stand as a form of protest. It was subtle, poignant, and about as far away from “attention seeking” as one can get. Honestly, the only reason it got so much media coverage was because people who disagreed with him wouldn’t shut up…
Meanwhile a massive conspiracy called “Wall Street” continues to extract massive amounts of wealth from our nation in plain view, and no one bats an eyelash.
they were really short on cash, I bet everything was built as cheaply as possible and was expected to last about as long as the events for which it would be used.
Yeah good question. The level of destruction and decay sure does seem quick for only six months. I have seen abandoned homes that held up better. I get people probably went in and stole literally everything that wasn’t nailed down but this seems like more than human caused destruction.
