More like James Bleak.

I watched Warcraft. I liked Warcraft. I can't wait to start modestly defending Warcraft when that movie gets thrashed in the comments section for the largely scathing review.

Sorry A.V. Club, but Real Genius is the premier campus comedy for eggheads:

[In Ken Watanabe's voice]: "Let them fight".

So, to generalize your argument a bit, in current conditions being positive is considered negative, while being negative is considered positive.

EDIT: This is the first time I mistakenly posted the same comment twice under the same thread and then shamefully tried to edit it because deleting messages in Disqus is not an option! There's a cause for some evening celebration.

I watched Warcraft. You can make a solid case against it as a clear-cut example of everything that is wrong with modern big-budget filmmaking. You can easily tear it down to pieces, exposing its every misstep and cardboard pretense and damning with faint praise its mild offerings of interspecific spectacle. And yes,

I liked it much more than Furious 6, but thought it was vastly inferior to Fast Five . You can't repeat the singular surprise of this one, suddenly galvanizing the franchise after almost 10 years of unmitigated blandness.

That escalated quickly.

Shout out for acknowledging Ugly Americans. It often gets pegged as an angry shoestring-budget social satire that were copiously made in the wake of South Park's success, whereas it's much weirder and character-driven than that.

HULK LIKE PAYING ATTENTION TO FORMAL AND DRAMATIC ASPECTS OF MODERN MOVIES, WHILE PROBLEMATIZING SOME OF FILM INDUSTRY'S PREDOMINANT TRENDS AND VICES

It seems to have worked for Michael Keaton, in no small part because his career-reviving film was about the subject of career-revival and was whole-heartedly embraced at the time when the Academy needed a film which would do away with its insecurities about the encroachment of superhero movies on the industry by being

He'd been touring around and performing as a hologram before it was cool.

And to think that just a few months ago we hailed Black Mass as a mould-breaker and Depp's return to form.
