I'm with you. I'm black as well, and it's a wonder how many people just dismiss this as "Florida" or "The South". This type of thing happens everywhere.

It's not THE point, but I believe that it's an important point. He's at least being punished for something here. He can be retried for murdering Jordan Davis (unlike George Zimmerman, who gets to live free) and he's going to jail for the rest of his natural life. Not a great outcome, but it could be worse. Much worse.
At least he's going to jail for (effectively) the rest of his life but yes, you're right. I don't get how he didn't get convicted of murder here.
He's a Defensive End/Outside Linebacker. From what I've read, he's likely to get drafted in or after the 3rd round. I could be wrong about this, but he seems to be a situational pass rusher (i.e. he only plays when it's blatantly obvious that the offense is going to throw the ball. In this situation, you put in a guy…
I'm a bisexual black man and I'm not going to lie, I teared up a bit when I read that. I always feel a twinge of pride when a black man comes out. I know how hard it is, particularly in black culture, to even acknowledge that you're different. Out black men in prominent positions are a big fucking deal.
No OS is going to please everyone. Windows 7 works just fine for most businesses (speaking from experience) and it isn't like 7 is going away any time soon. Using businesses as an argument just seems illogical here, because Metro isn't for a business.
Oh god Windows ME. That was my first experience with a home computer (I'd learned using 95 and 98, but the first computer someone bought me had ME on it). Even 12 year old me wanted to kick the screen in the dick.
Environmental factors, the "mystique of college", kids who never could have went to college otherwise and don't have access to agents/advisors/people who can tell them about their many other options. Also, keep in mind that football is a entirely different beast. Football players aren't even draft eligible until three…
Speaking as a man trying to work through an upbringing of "the man does everything, women aren't equal" bullshit, we feel threatened whenever a woman shows any level of strength. We get angry when we feel threatened, and when we get angry we go all ad hominem and shit. It's all really quite idiotic.
This is dirt sheet stuff, so take this with a grain of salt, but I've been reading that they'll show Chris Benoit material with some sort of disclaimer. I can't speak to the Owen Hart stuff though.
Unfortunately that argument doesn't hold water here. These gifts came from a corporate sponsor of a bowl game that these players earned the right to play in. I shouldn't have brought up what schools make from the athletes, because that actually doesn't apply in this specific case. The only thing that applies here is…
Well, I'd be willing to bet some of them never could have afforded an iPad any other way. It's a wonder how much you appreciate a gift when you can't buy one for yourself.
Kindly take your self-righteousness somewhere else. Consider that these gifts are given to the teams by a corporate sponsor of a bowl game that they had to earn their way into playing in. Also, consider that the $670 estimated cost that you made is a pittance compared to what schools make from these athletes' blood,…
Oh yes, bench him for doing something that he has every right to do (you know, because the Phillies gave him that right). That'll go over well.
Wow, victim much?
Nope. Because Pro Days.
That's the point. Potential NFL players are FORCED to go to college because they can't declare for the draft right away. If you don't want to be a student, if you believe that you're forced to carry on a charade for no good reason, chances are that you aren't gonna do too well.
Yep, still sploosh
Technically, Undertaker and Kane can both do Tombstones (Kane just rarely does it) but you're right.
