Except they weren’t. Indigenous protestors shut down rail in Canada for weeks on end and were met with virtually 0 resistance. The only reason they ended was because the COVID pandemic began and people were legitimately scared of the virus and the unknown in the early days.
Oddly enough the one SUV that does is the Land Cruiser (and LX570)
Hwy 93 outside Radium if I am not mistaken?
Cap gains tax doesn’t apply to primary residence (in Canada). As long as you can prove you lived in it for a year, no capital gains. If it was a second home or for speculative purposes then yes, but thats what capital gains tax should be applied to anyway
Revealing the snobbish elitism in cooking...he’s like the Donald Trump of the Food Network! #makefoodgreatagain
There are several pipelines that take crude from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico, including the original Keystone Pipeline that was built by TransCanada in 2008 and completed in 2010 which brings Crude from Hardisty, Alberta to Steele City, Nebraska. I disagree. Criminal fraud is a classic example of when courts will “pierce the corporate veil” and go after the individuals within the company. If it can be shown that executives within Volkswagen AG knowingly approved this scheme people will go to prison.

Down in Phoenix visiting from Canada and saw two on the road over the past 2 weeks. It was like seeing a unicorn...Twice!
Keep in mind that this analysis was done in Canadian grocery stores / Costco. I would imagine that there are some pretty big differences on prices vs the US, especially for things like dairy due to our supply management system and archaic rules like prohibitions on using milk as a loss leader.
I think Rex Murphy sums it up quite nicely
What it really comes down to is what interest rate you are paying. For example, Cadillac Canada was offering leases on the new ATS for 4 years at 0.9%, whereas the finance rates were closer to 4%. Granted at the end of the lease you still have about $20,000 left to pay, but if you were planning on getting rid of the…

Was in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories once where the temp was -50 Celsius, but -75 with the windchill. Watched someone's nose go white in 20 seconds.
Car2Go does pay for parking spaces, at least in Calgary, Alberta. GPS determines where the car is parked and for how long...then Car2Go pays the city. I am sure the rate is much cheaper, but they don't get to park for free
