I ended up getting tricked by one of those bullshit “Crisis Pregnancy” centers in the early 90s. I was 20, working a menial job, living in an apartment my boyfriend and I could barely afford. I was lured in by the promise of a free pregnancy test. We couldn’t Afford to purchase a motherfucking $8 pregnancy test and

Protector? That’s some neck-bearded fedora-wearing bs right there. Serious “nice guy” vibes for a 61-year-old I guess some of them never grow out of that shit.

Oh wow. So not a caricature!

They don’t sell lottery tickets because God says it’s wrong to mess with the future, people have said to me that if I don’t pray I will become lesbian, there’s a church almost on every block, people do spend a lot of time in the church, the food can be too sweet, sweet tea is only sugar and water, everyone I know has

From the BBC article, which is a bit of a trip:

Please do not publish the anatomically incorrect dolls the Forced Birthers use to inculcate their lies about the development of a fetus.

I have a three quarter sleeve t shirt that I really love from Target, It’s Mossimo. I tell people now it’s my mediocre white girl bribe shirt. I was planning to wear it tomorrow to some team building nonsense.

It’s so tragically true that it just takes one comment to ruin a kid’s joy in something. No matter how much encouragement they get.

Even if 98% of the kids are fine, all it takes is a few bullies to quash a kid’s passion. I know people like to say that kids are so resilient, blah, blah, blah, but kids are fragile, a few words can put the light out in a kid’s eyes. Good for you for leaving that conversation, I would have been yelling at the screen

Those bullies’ parents should be keelhauled. Fuck them for teaching their kids to mock kids who don’t conform to stereotypes. It’s great that Billy Elliot kept dancing, but that’s not how that story would have ended irl.

A friend of mine from college was on Star Search as a kid. I don’t remember if it was specifically dance or gymnastics, but it was very spangled and glittery and along those leaping, joyful lines. (I’m pretty sure he did both dance and gymnastics classes.) He won second place. Then some middle school bullies found out

Now, I’m not some sort of cultured ballet enthusiast but a friend took me to a show and holy hell...grown ass men leaping through the air and barely making a sound when they landed. I don’t even know what kind of muscle strength and control that takes because I can’t even walk in my house that quietly, but dude,

I dated a guy who was a dancer - mostly modern, but some ballet - and I have NO complaints about the experience whatsoever. His body was unreal!

Ballet is an elite sport. I will never again in my life be as fit as I was when I did it (although I am considering taking up lazy classes for adults because leaping in the air is really fun). Anyone who mocks it has zero understanding of the strength it requires and the discipline it instills in other parts of your

I too asked for (and got) tonka trucks. The ‘70s were good in some respects.

more than a few nfl players have taken ballet. the idea that it’s ‘unmanly’ is bullshit on every level!

I know in the scheme of things this may not sound so bad, but watching that clip really got under my skin. It’s the little things that contribute to the bullying epidemic. Laughing hysterically over the fact that a six-year old boy is taking a ballet class and, by extension, giving your your entire studio audience

Lara, if you want to insult the Royal family, there are voluminous reasons to do so.

God forbid a little kid engages in fun and healthy physical activity. The horror!

Can’t wait til he’s king (no one needs to tell me how far from the throne he truly is- let me have my dream) and he orders “Off with her head!”.  Let the child be a child. The horrors of adulthood will come too soon.
