I lol’ed at Motor Apprehend

Have a star for referencing that Chappelle skit. That’s some good shit.

Same happened to me in Cincinnati, was coming down to an appointment from a couple hours away, running late, and speeding through interstate rush hour traffic to make up time. State trooper pulled me over and said he clocked me at 78 in a 65(I think I was doing more like 72), took my license and went back to his car.

Maybe the T56s are all the same and it’s all the ratio in the diff? My buddy had a 2002 WS6 with the LS1/T56, he was at like 1500-1600 RPMs at 70. I think the V has 3.73s and the WS6 had 3.23s. I’ll have to pull the actual trans gear ratios for both at some point and see.

The Eco trim of the Cruze does have taller gearing, I think 4,5, and 6 are all overdrive ratios. But I think 6th should still be higher.

Good way to summarize it. Oddly enough though, I still see Cavaliers on the road daily but rarely see these. Last Neon I can recall was 6+ months ago, someone in my condos had one that lost reverse so he parked it in his driveway on ramps. Gravity reverse! Haha.

That’s not how buying and selling works. Sorry mate, but you are wrong. I’ve worked in supply chain for over 8 years, companies care about every way they can lose sales and plan accordingly.

It can definitely be the 2nd+ car in a multi-car family, but yeah, not replacing the main ICE car anytime soon. Even with a Tesla at superchargers, you’re stopping for~30 min charge every 90 minutes of driving once the initial full charge is used.

What is “RUG”? Regular unleaded gasoline?

The data on Fuelly shows the average at 40.2 MPG for the diesel. The EPA rating is 27/44, combined 32, so the people tracking it are able to get 8mpg better than the combined rating.

Same for much of the midwest. Mostly SUVs, crossovers, and sedans. Get outside the cities and pickups become more prevalent, but it’s a rare sight seeing a wagon/hatch other than the occasional Golf/GTI. I think I’ve seen a total of two of the recent Acura wagon and probably 5 of the CTS wagon ever.

The 1.8 is a dog, I agree with Snuze that they should have never offered it. Bad gas mileage, bad NVH, weak, etc. Nothing good about that engine. Meanwhile I really like my Cruze Eco with the 1.4L and stick shift.

Still have my Cavalier coupe! 18 years old and still going. Bought it for $2k with 170,000 mi and it now has 230,000 miles. Clutch, tires, oil changes, speed sensor ($60), water outlet ($20), and ignition switch ($5 at pick and pull) are all I’ve replaced in 7 years 60k miles.

My 14 Cruze the MSRP was around $21k, I paid around $16k ($5735 off). Given, I also have a job that I negotiate for a living, but I could have easily gotten at least half of that discount without any skills.

You are. Go buy a classic car.

The manufacturers care because their new cars have to compete with used cars. If there are WAY better deals on equivalent or similar used vehicles, they are going to lose sales to used.

This ticks me off on pretty much every stick I’ve owned, including the 3 GMs I have now. The top gear should be taller. 2 of the 3 can accelerate up a hill at 30mph in top gear. It’s not rapid acceleration, but that’s not necessary. I really don’t need it, the area I live in is 99% flat.

You’re not getting the base truck for $7k. People love these things and they hold their value well for their age/mileage. I knew someone who bought one used during the high gas price period, drove it a ton over several years, and sold it for more than he paid.

Lies. There’s over 50 brand new Camrys in a small radius going for $20k. You paid almost double for a 9 year old car.

The cost of the PA turnpike is insane. To visit my friends west of Philly from Ohio, one way toll is $27.90 for 236 miles. My fuel cost over those 236 miles is $11.74, so the toll triples the overall cost.
