Guys, this idiot was also wearing a shirt that says Fuck Speeding Tickets! Just when I thought he couldn’t get any more stereotypical dude-bro...

My lanky ass would never fit in a S2000

Uhh, GM? Volt gen 1 & 2, Cadillac ELR, Spark EV, and Bolt. They’ve done more to date than VW. Other than an electric powertrain in the Golf platform, VW is only just starting their electrification push, and only because of a scandal. Iirc, GM is second in sales of EVs/plugins after Tesla.

See, I look at Carmax and see a for-profit corporation who rips every single customer off. And I feel like most of their customers either don’t bother to do any self-education or even open their eyes to see they are being taken! Anytime you prepare to spend a lot of money, you should be doing some research.

Dealership costs are still there though even in direct sales. Still have to lease or buy the facility, pay the staff, etc. Those costs don’t go away, the only thing that does is dealership profit for the dealer owner.

Go to Carmax then. I’ll take the negotiation path any day, but that’s partially because I’m better at it than the average joe.

FiST or FoST is what I expected to see recommended.

I followed the event online for several years, nothing about the enforcement is even remotely reasonable. Lights or bumpers too low? Come on. How about the brodozers with everything too high, don’t see them getting harassed.

No no kind judge, it is a marked car! See! /sarc

It’s not entrapment as they aren’t directly causing you to speed or otherwise break the law. What they can do depends on your state. My state doesn’t allow traffic enforcement using unmarked cars, nor do they allow visual estimates of speed.

Yeah, as if stealth was safer for anyone.

My state doesn’t allow undercover cop cars to do traffic law enforcement. Still safe. Whohoo!

I’m around 50mi, but know people who do have insane commutes. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. And then there’s the occasional nut who just wants to live in the sticks...

It’s way worse than that. If you drive 100mi a day, you’re going to be charging for 31 hours on a 120v outlet to get it back to full. Even 50mi is over 15 hours.

Or trade a used gashog for a used efficient car. Just because you get a different car doesn’t mean you have to add a car loan or increase your existing car debt.

What small cars did you try (out of curiosity)? I’m 6'6", have a Cavalier and a Cruze, fit comfortably in both. I could probably be 6'9" and still fit in the Cruze, I don’t put the seat all the way back (first car ever...).

They’re definitely trying to change the brand they have with Buick. Hence all the “that doesn’t look like a Buick!” ads and the most recent digital and TV ads having all 20-30 year olds.

While they’re at it, just throw a LS engine in it. That’s what GM is good at anyway...

Tom - Typo fix needed:

That’s fucked up.
