I haven’t been able to buy into the oil filled heaters yet. There’s the same number of BTUs in a KW of electricity, whether it comes out of a heater with a fan or a heater with the coils surrounded by oil. The oil probably keeps a better comfort level because it doesn’t have that hard on/off. But unless you switch the

Yep - only heat/cool the space you’re in. Harder during the day when you’re moving between rooms, but easier at night. HVAC is normally the biggest consumer of energy, making it the easiest area for small changes to have an impact.

Exactly this. It turns a concerted effort to meet a goal into, “well, we’re going to fail, it’s just a matter of how much we fail by”.

Small cars are not an increase to fuel economy though - small, high mpg cars are already readily available. People just aren’t buying them due to cheap gas and the convenience of larger vehicles. When gas prices go back up, there may be a exodus from the largest of trucks/SUVs, but many large cars and small

There’s a few benefits. Less human error. Cars will keep closer spacing in traffic which will increase capacity/reduce congestion. The elderly or otherwise impaired will be able to be mobile.

Only efficiency stuff I’ve done is CFL/LED lighting and a powerstrip that cuts power to accessories when TV is off.

Grand National. Buick 3.8L was a fantastic engine and in production from 1961-2008. Also was on Ward’s best engines of the 20th century list and 10 best engines for 1995-1997.

Camaro and ATS share the Alpha platform.

Yeah, in general any GM dealer will service any GM car even for warranty/recall work. There may be a few exceptions, but in most cases any GM dealer will work on it.

It’s definitely mixed experiences depending on the dealer. I brought mine (before purchasing) to one dealer for an inspection. They were useless, I found more wrong with it while on the lift than their techs did. It had an airbag light on for which there was extended warranty coverage from GM. They refused to scan it

I hope they do this and bring it to the States. Chevrolet SSR anyone?

Hell naw. I still love me some Song 2! Makes me want to drive fast more than anything else (probably in part due to Star).

I doubt the alternator would produce enough voltage at the low engine RPMs that bump starting is going to produce. I think carbs and mechanical/points ignition would probably be needed.

I have 1024 sq ft in Ohio and only used 324kwh in July. My 12 month average is 404kwh. I’m a bit miserly but nothing crazy, still have central air, plasma TV, etc. We have a window AC to cool just the bedroom at night.

That’s ugly as fuck. Yeesh. You could at least put them on the top of the pole, more out of sight.

ODOT and some cities/counties do that here all the time. You can see the cuts in the road where they installed the loop and the junction box in the center. Additionally, if you are present at the sensor when the opposing direction’s light turns yellow, you get a left turn arrow.

Yes - most of the time here you can see the cut where they put the loop in the ground. I would stop directly over the loop on one side. Never tried the kickstand because my bike didn’t care if you were in neutral or gear, if the kickstand was down, it killed the engine.

Immediate unfriend.

Bowling is talking about the inductive loop sensor that triggers a protected left turn arrow, not the advance loop sensor.

I had problems at certain lights, even with a old, heavy, steel frame Honda CB700SC.
