Or parking garage tickets.
Amen! Had one of these as a rental while my car was getting accident repairs. Awful. I remember having to floor it to get up a nearby hill. While doing so, I got mean-mugged by an old lady like I was being reckless... Nope, just going 20mph in a shitbox! Flooring it just made more noise, it didn’t really go any…
Wow. I had no idea!
Agreed! It only weighs 1850lbs but doesn’t even get good gas mileage. EPA rating is 34/38. It also requires premium! Hell, my 3000lb Chevy cruze is rated for 29/42 and so far has averaged 43.5.
Purdy! Loved that color.Hood and rims look good too. Still have mine, drive it as a winter beater now. I don’t know how, but it really doesn’t have much rust and I hardly ever washed it in the last several winters.
Now that I think of it, seems like a trend with Chrysler products. I recall a friend of the family (who takes good care of everything) buying a 2003 town and county, it had rust at the corners of all the doors at 4 or 5 years old.
On the other hand, blowing up transmissions took no skill. I’m on my 3rd transmission.
I just saw one a few days ago, rust holes through large portions of the tailgate. Made me wonder, are these Durango’s really that old? I’ve never seen such large holes from rust in a car under 10 years old.
Fun or not, a manufacturer can do it better and cheaper because they have economies of scale. A single project car at a tuner or DIY is inevitable going to cost more because you bear the entire cost. The manufacturer can spread that cost over many sales.
It only scares me if there is a known expensive or labor-intensive issue known to hit around a certain number of miles. I didn’t buy a S4 with the 4.2L V8 because of the timing chain guide issues with that engine. The car was at 89k miles and a decent percentage of the S4s needed the engine pulled and the entire…
I could see that. I think I’ve see all of 1 current gen Passat in the last six months. In a metro area of 1.9M people. The damn things just aren’t selling. Although that seems to be a trend with VW overall lately, at least in the US.
Bought the same exact one at Kohls for $7 last year ($10 bucks but had 30% off coupon).
Unless the test was “Will it sink?”
I can’t justify it, but I also want to retire before I’m ancient. 1st gen CTS-V is good enough for me!
Looks like a Volkswagen Beetle. And the design hasn’t changed in at least 40-50 years.
Sorry, but I love em. Why hold the stalk down when you can just tap it?
Jag V8, notorious for reliability issues and bad electrical systems, no manual with the V8 = Bad. Just plain bad.
Yep, because of the horrific resale values.
I wasn’t an ass like that, but did pretty much the same thing. Made it known that I needed to know their best price on this specific inventory, that I purchase and negotiate for a living, and that I was cross shopping other dealers for the same thing. Made it clear I wasn’t going to waste their time, and expected the…
