The letter writer’s all like

the race angle

I liked reading this. It could have easily been a thinkpiece about a hate-read, but you came around on the fact that people have genuine desires that are served by art* like this and that all culture is iterative and referential to some extent.

Plus, this is a great line:

inlandsea after watching the 2016 NBA Finals: “I guess the Warriors must not have been very good.” Because examining outcomes in relation to the processes which produced them (i.e., not in isolation) is dumb.

It’s also worth noting that Alonso will be a free agent after this season, so you’re trading a guy who’s probably going to walk (uh, no pun intended I guess) for a guy who’d be under team control for a good while.

And this would be a fine point for you to make if playoff spots weren’t allocated on the basis of regular season success.

“Turn off your phone and watch TV.” THIS TAKE NEEDS MORE HEAT, DAMMIT.

(Sidenote: anyone who says anything along the lines of “it’s not TV” is getting dismissed. Please believe me.)

BOOOOOOOOO.

STOP TRYING TO COOL DOWN THESE HOT TAKES, BRO.

The Grandy Man can have his heart broken, too.

It’s not wrong, it just lacks all of the context.

(for the article itself and for your reply to the troll)

The third base coach apparently only gives dap for real home runs, which is fair.
