In fairness, Griner is an all-timer. So I could see why she wouldn’t be suspended for any games of consequence, and I initally thought that Mulkey’s remarks here distinguished by their tone-deafness and needlessness. But now I realize the cynicism behind both is the same: she was protecting her win percentage then,

(Am I the only person who heard Mulkey say “send my Baylor to daughter”? As if the sentiment wasn’t bad enough?)

I’d always respected Mulkey as a coach, but I forget sometimes that college athletics don’t always employ the most progressive, conscious, or courageous people.

I think it’s telling that Shaq’s response to the Slim Reaper was “I wasn’t talking to you” instead of “check my receipts son.”

+1 Coke, dammit.

Maybe? Or I’m more territorial about my parking space than I realize.

WHO KNEW?

Hawks look like they’re about to hit the Men’s Warehouse for prom rentals.

I also find it ironic that Pierce clowned on Durant for joining the Warriors when the Celtics basically a non-factor in the playoffs before they acquired Allen and McHale gifted the Celtics with Garnett.

“Fan voting is a damn crock.”

A dude who was blocking my parking space told me to “kick rocks.” I was furious. It’s an effective escalator.

But Steven is an expert on Women’s Thoughts™, though!

Women, as far as I know, live in fear of being raped by men, not trans women. I would never dismiss a woman’s fear of men (feel free to cite where I actually did so). I will dismiss transphobia, however.

+1 (sweet avatar, by the way)

Something can be reasonable, yet still wrong.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that prejudice doesn’t matter--and you’re right, they are reciprocal--but, good sociologist that I am, I’m with Oliver C. Cox: “Race prejudice is not an individual idiosyncracy; it is a social attribute” sustained by social inequality (cf. Caste, Class, & Race [1948], p. xxxi) and the

We all have a right to our opinions no matter how stupid they may be.

I disagree. How many not-actually-trans-but-cisgendered men have tried to pull this stunt to get into women’s bathrooms? Can anybody cite a single time that it’s happened? And if they can, can they then demonstrate that this is a pervasive problem? They cannot.
