I'm not that old—in fact, compared to my friends (and they love to remind me of this), I'm young, but nothing makes me *feel* old than finding out people with some form of success are younger than I am.

I think he occasionally does that sometimes, but I think he's more moved on to saying "we don't rate [weird thing that this picture definitely of a dog could be]" instead, as a genre of posts.

This means Elementary will be mid-season; maybe then it won't get constantly delayed by football (or, one time, entirely preempted by golf). Do we know whether it got a full season pick-up, yet, or are they pulling the '13 episode final season' card?

I had no idea she was on this show (or that LMS still existed, or had existed for so long, or…) and I did a double take when I saw that picture and went "Loretta?!?"

I mean, I guess technically the Nixon Library's twitter is a corporate twitter account, but it is an account representing a presidential library, which is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, which means the account is probably run by an archivist or special collections librarian. And let me tell

I'm finishing up grad school this month, and went straight out of undergrad, so I've had my permanent address as my parents' house (which is in Albany County, NY) for all 7 years I've been eligible to vote. So this shithead & NY-19 borders my delightful congressman, Paul Tonko, representing NY-20. Similarly, NY-21 is

Well, it's a good thing I got my Deadwood binge done already when I was procrastinating on my thesis.

I will never be in this situation, which is for the best, because sometimes my brain likes to remind me of the times I've called someone by the wrong name, as I'm trying to sleep, and that messes me up, so I can't imagine what *this* situation would do to my head.

This whole situation is a mess, Marvel should realize it's a mess, but instead they're doubling down on it. Maybe that makes a fake geek girl, I dunno. I only got into comics a few years ago, and I've fallen off in recent months because lack of employment+grad school means buying a few $4 comics each week (with how

The Prime trial itself is 30 days, yeah, but Starz is an added-on package that doesn't come set into the main subscription, and that trial is just a week. So just doing an Amazon Prime trial wouldn't get you Starz, and you probably couldn't add on a trial within a trial :/. Streaming is so convoluted.

This is similar levels of oops to the tweet Ivanka sent out for National Library Week which led a bunch of angry librarians (including me) to be like, thanks for acknowledging, now tell your dad not to cut IMLS funding!

A stuffed crust pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut is a classic favorite order of mine. There are other pizzas I love more, especially from family-owned places, but no one does stuffed crust like the Hut.

This is an interesting topic, and I'm glad they have the freedom to choose which category they want to submit in, and what they feel more comfortable with doing.

Yeah, I've gotten around by now to starting Justified—I'm almost done with season 1. I'm really enjoying it. And Walton Goggins is definitely incredible.

Oh I know, I've started Justified now. That "couldn't commit" aspect was because I was working on my Master's thesis, and I've finished my first draft and have a bit more free time so I'm treating myself to a binge—almost done with season 1 and I'm loving it.

I watched this show after my binge of Deadwood when I couldn't commit to something as long to binge as Justified to sate my hunger for more Timothy Olyphant and wow, was that a 180 to see. But I really enjoyed it, especially TO's ridiculousness, and the daughter and neighbor kid.

I wrote a final paper for a course on gender and socialism on women's involvement in the American sections of the First International, which included a lot on Woodhull, who represented an American-born socialist perspective (for a time, she went through lots of movements) opposed to the German immigrant faction. Thank you!

Yeah, I'm sure government jobs aren't out of the picture entirely, but all this just creates a climate in which I feel people will be more hesitant to hire.

Between the federal hiring freeze, and this budget plan, it is definitely a great* time to be two months from graduating with a master's of library and information science focusing on archives, where so many positions are either in the government, or funded by NEH grants. Yayyy :/
