I’ve been watching Lucifer since close to the end of s1, getting into it when I wanted something fun and sort of ridiculous to watch, and I got that, but so much more. This season has tested my patience sometimes, largely around Marcus/Cain and the could-have-beens of the plotlines rather than the actual ones, but it

When I was younger, like 10 or so, my dad, who is disabled and used a mobility scooter at the time, took us through the McDonald’s drive-thru in my tiny little town in upstate NY, and while the staff was bemused, they served us, probably because there wasn’t anything more interesting to do in the middle of a summer

Yeah, that’s a weird misconception, because (as far as I know) dark roast actually has the least amount of caffeine, while light roast has the most. But dark roast also has the lowest amount of acidity, which is why I drink it.

As a lot of other commenters have pointed out, the letter was far more nuanced and only dealt with the racism of Dr. Seuss as one section of a greater argument against the minuscule and misdirected effort of the book donation and the much greater harm done to American education by the current admin. I’m not a school

Like most people, I didn’t really pay any attention to or take ICP seriously prior to learning about the gang designation, which really disturbed me. I’m glad their march went well; I enjoyed reading some of the twitter threads from reporters there.

I saw both It and mother! (sidebar: both titles are very awkward for typing) at my neighborhood indie theater (5 screens, doesn’t go too arthouse, $7 before 6/$10 after, has beer, aka the best place to see movies) and both felt right to see there, but while I could also have seen It at the local multiplex, seeing mothe

Yeah, Whole Foods has the cheapest milk in my (current, for one more week) neighborhood, and lots of basic stuff is comparable to or not much more than at Stop & Shop or Trader Joe’s, but with the (sadly, not for long) benefit of being a 3 minute walk away.

Oh hey, I was worried since I always used my twitter as a log-in for Disqus, my account wouldn’t transfer like a regular one, but it did! Now it is time to adjust my eyes to all this blinding whiteness.

Exactly! I can't take the rest of this seriously because of how dismissive they are of Zesty sauce! It has that great horseradish kick but with a great balance. Sigh.

I'm so very excited about this! I love her on Broadchurch and in Attack the Block.

This show really is a perfect summer watch. It originally caught my interest because of Carrie Preston, and she is doing some *amazing* stuff in it. I really enjoy all the main women, and Niecy Nash at the center is just so great.

I've never met Stan Lee, but a few years back, end of the last day of NYCC, my friends & I were sitting on some steps in the Javits, along with a bunch of other tired out con-goers. People talking among their friend groups, organizing bags of stuff. So I see, at the edge of my vision, this old man walking up the

I follow him on Twitter and he's been *very* excited about popping up in Preacher so once I realized he was the bartender I was like "either he's such a fanboy that a glorified cameo excited him, or he'll be back".

I feel the same way. It is especially depressing because I'm plus size, and it is so hard to find nice, fitting plus size skirts and dresses akin to what Modcloth offers, but it just feels too wrong now, because of Walmart.

I was at Boston Pride this Saturday and was wondering why there was a dearth of Babadooks and then one showed up! He was very obliging and I got a selfie with him. I enjoy this meme, even if I'm forever glad I watched The Babadook long before this; if I tried to now, I think the meme would just overtake things for me.

Oh yeah, definitely. Even though I doubt we need multiple Boston Marathon movies, this one at least is a kind of centered biopic of a real guy (and with Maslany as his gf), rather than a "Marky Mark as a made-up guy saves all of Boston" indulgence.

She's not actually in the Marky Mark marathon movie, but another Boston Marathon movie called Stronger (which evidently comes out in September), wherein she stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.

Wow, I didn't know that, but I'm glad I know now; thanks.

This is wonderful, and puts to word a lot of my own cognitive dissonance over being an anti-NRA leftist and violent movie loving person. I cling to the separation of fiction and reality and have since I first saw Silence of the Lambs on basic cable in 7th grade and it became my favorite movie, with Clarice Starling my

A whole review without a mention of that season one connection! I can't imagine them putting her on a (prison) bus without it being a case of, well, Chekhov's Wrench.
