This could be quite fun if they just stick with classic Looney Tunes (or even Tiny Toons) goofiness without trying to make it a modern movie plot like Disney or Pixar where The Plot and The Lesson are paramount. Yes, technically there will be a plot, but with Looney Tunes I’m there for the dialogue and the gags.

Insomniac’s PS4 game and Miles Morales were so good that I think anyone who played them wanted this game, and I even broke my ‘no pre-orders’ rule to pre-order it and have it loaded and ready to go at 9 PM PST Oct 19.

‘GameMill’, how appropriate.

I wanted to ask ‘And how did sales look once everyone realized it was 1000 miles wide and a thousandth of an inch thick and got bored?’ but you already covered that halfway through, bravo!

Hey now, this is a real slippery slope. If you remove all the repetititve, tedious, and uninteresting bits from Starfield there will be hardly anything left.

That’s nice, but does anyone even care?  Yes, there is always That One Guy who cares, but the player numbers for this are beyond terrible. This is not a game you can CP2077 because so few people cared about it in the first place, then the landing was just so disastrous, and there is just nothing there to care about at

Well, it’s probably more fun than Starfield in its current state?

The practical review:

So, as an update from the San Francisco police.... the death threats came from...

Unity reporting that it had been installed would be entirely separate from the ‘game DRM’. This would be new (mis)functionality added before Jan 2024, but it would just be Unity dlls pinging back to Unity, entirely separate from whether you use Denuvo or whatever.

The extra ‘NICE’ thing about this is that now game installs are weaponized. You hate that a dev made a change in the game you don’t like? People used to review bomb it. Now just set up a script to install then uninstall the game all day long, and share that script with your equally frothing buddies.

Shitty Corporate Game Promises to Keep Shitting On You Regularly

There is an absolute difference between ‘Han Chinese people all suck’ (they don’t) and ‘Mainland Chinese culture sucks’ (it does). I tried to make that clear, but I guess falling back on calling that ‘racist’ is all you can do because the latter is 100% true.

It’s got absolutely nothing to do with being ‘of Chinese descent’ and everything to do with mainland Chinese culture which only cares about money money money and ‘art’ is just a hammer you use to make money. Taiwan makes fine games. People of Chinese descent in the US (and elsewhere) make fine games.

How the hell did this guy manage to get 130 hours into a new Bethesda game without a gamebreaking save error / quest error? Since he’s an exec there must be devs willing to fix the worst bugs for him.

It’s because they’re both Chinese. Chinese game makers are amazingly good at making astoundingly pretty clone games with absolutely no soul. They get the shell polished to an amazing degree but there’s nothing underneath it because they’re just mindlessly going through the motions. You just have to look at Kantai

‘I thought that things will change for the better after Kotaku’s EIC removal from her position’

Look, I am ‘pessimistic’ because of what a fucking piece of shit CP2077 was at launch. We ‘looked forward to’ that, and got slapped in the face and crotch repeatedly for it. If we ‘look forward to being right about how negative we were’ it’s because AAA games now routinely launch completely fucking broken because the

> Did the switch hold back the industry?

It’s absolutely no Witcher 3 or Persona 5, but given the lack of this kind of game I found CP2077 to be pretty fun (after waiting a year for it to be fixed). And from what I’ve seen I’m absolutely looking forward to Phantom Liberty. If nothing else, it’ll only be 1% as bugtastic as Starfield. That’s going to need a
