They are still licensing the tech as ‘Immersive Stream for Games’.   Used for stuff like delivering game demos fast, which it’s great at.

Google’s known propensity for killing off products and a terrible business model finally bite them in the ass in a big way.

All that is great for the book. The more controversy the better.

Magnus (who is great at chess) knows that a 19 yo can kick his ass six ways from Sunday (because Niemann is even better at chess), and in order to avoid facing that humiliation again will come up with any lame excuse he can not to have to play him again.

Dead Center, baby!

Mostly good observations, but I think missed some things (hey, there’s so much here it’s easy to miss).

I understand your desire for Giant Robots, but they’ve totally run out of interesting things to do with them (with one exception). I watch the first eps and am so bored, seen it all before. It’s even kind of a relief when you get a series like SSSS.Gridman that just redoes an older tokusatsu series so at least

$500M and nothing to show for it except speculative jpegs of spaceships and space land. Not even a single chapter of Squadron 42.

Yeah, this is totally normal. A lot of Nintendo games just started out as a flat square moving around in a world where everything else is just simple lines or rectangles.

Nvidia have always been assholes.  I don’t envy anyone who has to work ‘with’ them.

EVGA makes other products and doesn’t make money on the GPUs, so this is not really ‘suicide’.  It’s just getting out of an abusive relationship.

iOS 16 finally lets you make a shortcut for turning on your wireless hotspot and then put that on the your main page as a widget.

Digging up Kiryu as your protagonist again (instead of as just a cameo like LaD) means you’re lost and don’t have any idea what you’re doing so you’re just blindly going back to what worked in the past.

This game was entirely in bad faith. It’s just utterly disgusting that they charged full price for it up front with ‘yeah, it’s ugly janky shit, but all the good stuff is coming later, why not buy some microtransactions for now, trust us?’ You can’t have ‘games as a service’ without even providing any service

Warface.

GoT wasn’t nothing but Honor (though Honor was the most important thing), it was just very low on humor except for the shady alcohol dealer, and there wasn’t a lot of effort into exploring the life of the peasants except as victims. AC: Red could go further into both of those.

Yeah, Yakuza has a ton of humor (good and bad) and is not afraid at all to wallow in sleaze. But at the end of the Kart Race, the plots are all still about Men Being Stupidly Manly Because Honor.

The modern day stuff was a nice idea, but it was just so terribly done that I couldn’t care about it, and being broken out of ancient Egypt or Italy always just felt like a chore you had to slog through to get to the next fun part.

Japanese gamers liked GoT. A lot. And it’s very similar in theme to many samurai video games Japanese have made, like Bushido Blade or Way of the Samurai. Even Japanese portray old timey Japanese as completely obsessed with honor (and then the modern form of that is the Yakuza games)! So this seems like some extreme

Of course Blizzard isn’t going to outright ban a group of players who are outspending most of the other players - even if you got the discounted orbs from a reseller, Blizzard still got the money for them being bought in the first place with stolen credit cards. They’re expecting that ‘Shia’ will do what it takes
