Yeah, that lvl 50 Tier 1 mercenary - didn’t take him out in one hit since I was only lvl 47, but chaining to his cat (sorry kitty) and back did the trick.

I’m a bit surprised that Real Gamers are getting their panties in such a bunch over this instead of just playing RDR2.  Maybe it’s because it’s not out on PC yet because Rockstar are Betrayers of the White Race like Blizzard are.

More than any other AC game this one really lets you specialize as hunter (pick ‘em off at a distance), combat (forget sneaky, just beat them all to death), or assassin.

It is in no way a classic, but you could legitimately have fun with how dumb and bad it was. Also, it was an early PS2 game when PS2 was in its desperate for games phase so you took what you could get.

The Overpower Bow Strike (explosive arrow dealing 1500% damage) is just crazy.  It’s fantastic crowd control since every one just goes flying backwards (with you mysteriously unaffected) and often dead with that much damage.  And yeah, it’s super fun using it on high up groups. Athenian confetti!

The bit about 2D peak vs 3D awkward is spot on. Most of these games just look like crap - except for Wild Arms because it’s good old 2D (except the relatively ugly 3D combat bits). SPF2T and Mr. Driller will look okay because they’re 2D. And Rayman will look great of course.

These are very feral cats. One gave me a pretty ear-curdling yowl and they can take down the birds and wildlife. I bet they’d take your arm off.

That is complete amateur hour. Even a noob game dev knows that or learns that real fast. Anything tied to frame rate hasn’t been acceptable since late 90s. There are some sad examples on console from later (which cause hell for ports) but this was a freaking PC game from the start. Total clown circus.

If you’re on PC and you feel certain bits of the game are stupidly grindy and time wasting... just cheat! No shame in ditching the useless parts to get to the good bits.
