As if the opening sequence of Ghost in the Shell didn’t already have me hooked, the credit sequence with this track was completely mesmerizing.

I certainly don’t know all the specifics, but I’m sure investors ask for a fairly substantial cut of the profits in return for their funding. Perhaps even more than publishers, in exchange for creative freedom. I’m just assuming that the developer isn’t interested in going to investors this time.
