To be fair, we currently have a very long running TV series based on a comic in the Walking Dead. But people forget that all coni s aren’t superheroes.

Waiting for the A24 adaptation of The Maxx.
One day our teenage grandkids will roll their eyes whenever they come to visit and of course the TV is set to the Superhero Movie Channel.
There were three Marvel movies this year and together they made $2.5 billion. The lowest-grossing of the bunch still ended up with the 8th biggest box office of the year.
It’s actually a surprise that some smaller studios haven’t tried to license a smaller comic companies output and pump out more low budget stuff.
And at their height, all the studios were cranking out as many low budget oaters as the market would bear. That has never been the case with superhero movies.
Exactly. Westerns were the huge mass market genre for decades and never went away. They ebb and flow for sure and aren’t as popular as their prime but they still make them. I’m sure superhero movies will do the same thing.
She she said she wasn’t bad, but just drawn that way. Oh wait, that was Jessica Rabbit.
I would watch a Catwoman Beyond project with her in the future mentoring a younger Catwoman
“The sketch felt like an obligation as if the writers felt like they had to do something with the cultural phenomenon of Avatar. It lacked focus, direction, or commentary. It felt overlong, even though it was relatively short. It was a lazy sketch that relied more on costuming and sets than good writing”
While I loathe the original concept of their leaked new OGL and glad they got the pushup they received, it is important to remember WoTC is a company, not a charity. They exist to make money first and foremost, as all companies do. The original OGL was written before digital content was even really a thing, D&D was…

There is a point if you’re a gamer and you also enjoy television shows. Experiencing one medium, does not eliminate the possibility of enjoying the story in another. I’m a book reader, but you best believe I’ll watch an adaptation of the the book as well.
This leans into a suggestion that the show will make the game obsolete, and I don’t think I’m on board with that. The cutscenes are great, but I found a lot of value in the playable parts too. As the article hints, there’s something about existing in that world, rather than just passively watching it, that’s engaging…
They already did and it was called Mad Max: Fury Road.
When he cast Sasha Grey and Gina Carano in movies within a few years of each other, it felt like a peek into his late night viewing habits.
That attitude of soderbergh, where he’ll make movies with the most successful charismatic people ever, and then also whip up a strange experimental movie like bubble starring unknowns is why I enjoy his work. Not every movie is a success, but the existence of it all is wonderful.
Psshaw... Mr. Show was doing whole *sketches* about how bad that song was back in 1998.
I loved the physicality she brought to Haywired, but I could never understand how Soderbergh could be that much of a genius directing actors that he made her look good. Than I read the rumors that all her scenes were dubbed in post by Laura San Giacomo and it all made sense.
