Fabric softener!! I live in Japan where, for some inexplicable reason, clothes dryers are not A Thing (like, they exist in theory, but the only people I know who actually own one are other foreigners). So I’ve been line-drying all my clothes, jeans included, for the past ten years.

My headcanon, and something that you see addressed a lot in fic, is that there are plenty of good witches out there — but we never see them precisely because they are good. They don’t do anything to get noticed. The only witches who wind up on a hunter’s radar are the ones going around killing, cursing people,

That’s one of those defining moment / big generational realization things for me. Not sure how old I was when I first saw the movie, maybe middle school or something? Young enough that they all seemed really “adult” and the whole thing perfectly reasonable.

Citizenship =/= green card. The people that the author is talking about here are not asking for “the full privileges of US citizenship.” No one is saying that non-citizen residents should be able to vote for president.

It’s pretty effing cheap. Guarantee you that is absolutely the before-taxes sum, as well. It’s what my first job ever in Tokyo paid, and it is livable as long as you keep expenses low.

Holy crap, yeah. Just finished watching and I am kind of... traumatized, not gonna lie. I mean, I’m *fairly* certain SPOILER and SPOILER aren’t, like, permanently dead? I just hope they don’t make the actors try and play coy with it— allow them to just admit that no details but yes, they will be on the show next

I’m just crossing my fingers that next season is Three Men and a Baby: Bunker Edition. I can’t be the only one

Nope, Robbie Thompson has said he’s alive and I’m sticking with that.

Better hope it’s not Sam, cause nobody survives the Peen of Death (TM)

With you on the shrimp and grits but I may hafta fight you on the other thing.

aka “wiretapping”

Truth. I just pretend it ended after season 1

I have no idea what this show is, but love him!

This thread is awesome. There are two reasons though, that I really like modcloth.

See, I think something like that can be a valid teaching tool. I mean, maybe not 4th graders and definitely not to the extent that you make people cry. But, picking something arbitrary to decide who’s “better” and treating them accordingly.

Japanese is one of the most fun languages to do this sort of thing with, largely because of how kanji allows you to just make up new words. One of my favorites is watching one of the Harry Potter films in theater with Japanese subtitles. For the dementors, they translated that as 吸魂鬼, with furigana above saying デメンター.

except for when I want to say something like “his subdued affect helped him to effect change.”

First time I ever saw Legend was on a hotel TV in Prague, dubbed in to German.

TAD COOPER! I super believe in you, Tad Cooper.

As much as I remember in the books, he’s not so much in the closet as in denial/conflicted about his sexuality, in the beginning. He’s in love with Jace (which both Jace and Isabelle are background aware of) but you get the sense that as long as there’s no one else in Jace’s life, Alec is content with their
