Yes! I thought that was a really interesting choice, especially as — in the beginning of the speech at least — there were a few lines that were essentially lifted as is from Dougal's story to Claire in the books, or at least very close.

Yeah, Jamie was saying he reckons one if them should "ken" what they're doing.

See, I kind of want to but I'm not sure if I could handle it.

Yeah, it is really common. Smaller films might be released in a subs-only version, but in most cases theaters show both subbed and dubbed screenings of English language films (definitely for the big-budget, major releases).

I'll just add this in here since it seems to be the book spoiler thread.

Agreed. I found her terribly annoying and bratty in this episode, but I also feel like that's a pretty realistic reaction.

Now playing

Just gonna drop this here while I try and figure out where my pants have mysteriously disappeared to.

This is interesting to think about from the perspective of interpreting— especially simultaneous interpreting. In the case where you're interpreting through a headset, very often you are hearing your own voice in addition to the voice of the person you're shadowing/interpreting.

Ugh, that video. And of course at the end he's all "dammit, I can't believe I missed that! I suck!"

Right? Middle Ages/fairy tale extravaganza starring Timothy Omundson SINGING! and DANCING!

Agreed. The noise that velcro makes is the NOISE of THE DEVIL and I don't understand how people can listen to it without their scalp crawling.

Okay maybe this is the place to ask — I am DESPERATELY trying to watch the first free episode on Starz from outside the US but I keep getting a "video not available/unable to connect to network" message.

It's possible they were fucking with us, but during the comic con panel Carver apparently made it sound like we may get to see demon!Dean singing karaoke in the season premiere... (!!)

Right? I'm more interested about how panicked Elle seems to be about this shocking development ;-p

Maybe it's a bit too late to reply to this post, but — oh god so, so many.

*drops mic

Even for dudes I feel like two thumbs only would be...awkward at best? ;-p

See, now I'm just picturing someone masturbating using only their thumbs...

Yeah, really not so much monotheistic as syncretic. At various times — and often at the same time — different cities around Egypt had their own pantheons, their own names for the creator god(s) and their own versions of a creation myth. Which wasn't really considered odd. Just because one myth was "true" didn't mean

Agreed. I came to SPN relatively recently, but was having such a blast going back and reading the earlier TWoP recaps of it. And of course they made fun of Darling Sammy and lots of the ridiculousness, but it came from an affectionate place.
