Exactly. I think that's one of the biggest points that gets forgotten in these kinds of arguments. It's not always about inner beauty or attractiveness not being as important, etc.

Me too! Or, basically I go to a salon and get a nice professional wax once for a good shape, then just tweeze to maintain it instead of going back again.

Is it just me, or is this article talking about 2 entirely different things?

Me too! I liked the other girl so much better. And WTF was with Persistent Girl's hair/makeup? Blech.

I have absolutely no desire to watch this show, but I say we all vow to pretend to watch it on Hulu/TV to bump up the ratings and keep it from cancellation.

Exactly! There was one I watched a while ago with a family who moved to Shanghai. They ended up in this total expat community (where their enormous American-style house looked out onto a LAKE) and the Dad was saying how it was great and all but gave him a longer commute to work.

OK, well that one probably does stem from my own jealousy about not having an oven (in Japan). Objectively it's maybe not that unreasonable ;-p

So true. My guilty pleasures are Toddlers & Tiaras, Say Yes to the Dress, that sort of thing.

Ugh, Top Model used to be my top guilty pleasure, but I just couldn't make it through this last season. All the talking about "the fans" and "social media" kind of killed me.

Not as far as I know.

On a side note for the grammar geeks among us, I recently discovered the most dorky-wonderful app on iTunes. It's called the Grading Game, I think?

Really? I felt like the article has lots of "positive" advice. Don't confuse the comments with the contents of the article. (Nowhere in the article does it say anything about being "attractive" enough to approach someone.)

I'm sorry, but nothing can ever beat the Barbie Dance Workout — featuring a very young Jennifer Love Hewitt, no less.

Even the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department has a cute mascot!

I know some people involved in the project, so I've seen designs, concept, etc. Basically it's a 2D/CG hybrid. This allows them to have reusable CG models for some main characters and things, which is cheaper. But at the same time they're also using toon-shading (cel-shading) techniques to mimic hand-drawn animation.

I like the idea of that kind of intermittent fasting, but I wonder if it plays out differently based on whether you're fasting breakfast or dinner?

Yeah, they're going to be incorporating a lot of 2D elements— backgrounds, etc. so stylistically I think it will be very similar to the original. Also, with toonshading techniques it's possible to make characters that are actually CG but look hand-drawn.

I'm the same way. Also likely because I grew up with stories of my parents' wedding performed by a female Unitarian minister in their small apartment in L.A., where they had to ask the nice lesbian couple and their gay roommate who lived next door if they would mind not nude sunbathing on their balcony, cause the

A couple years ago when my company was moving offices. In the process of cleaning/packing, we had to wrench open this one filing cabinet drawer that hadn't seen the light of day since god knows when.

Ugh, I think I know which one you're talking about. I was looking at some article, or facebook post or something, and somebody had commented like "OMG I can't believe they _____!!"
