I don’t know if you’re into hockey at all; I’m not, so I have no idea how this stuff ended up in my recommended videos to begin with, but there are actually a surprising number of times players have ended up getting their throat cut.

No, I totally get it. I’ve got a friend who was diagnosed with late-stage breast cancer and is really going through the proverbial ringer, way, way worse than what I had to deal with, so the sense of perspective even post-cancer diagnosis is something else.
Same, sort of..? I was just diagnosed with colon cancer back in March. I’d just turned 46 a few months prior and so figured it was time to start doing regular health checks, a sendout kit came back positive, and they found a pretty sizable tumor with followup testing.
Thankfully, after some rapidly arranged surgery…
Can’t wait for them to announce a black actor or a woman as another main character that isn’t a princess and for the usual crowd to start losing their shit about “woke / DEI / Spaceballs lore is ruined” etc.
Yeah, see, like you I’ve read Preacher and so was prepared for Ennis’... eccentricities; hell, I still like Preacher even though there are aspects of it that have aged less than well. But man, Boys crossed a weird and undefinable line even for me. Even beyond that though, the characters are just ferociously…
I've never read through the entire comic; I tried once but calling it Garth Ennis' worst work would be an understatement for me. But I'm guessing with a nickname like "Monkey", he's not unlike Bill Chimpfucker from Transmetropolitan...
Why would he blame himself for a successful show that was only canceled because his bosses at the time were cowards? Also, maybe tell Sullivan to not propagate 'racial IQ' bullshit if he doesn't want to be branded as a racist.
Maybe I’ll have to give 2 another try; I only watched it the once and it did not gel with me at all, whereas I’ve watched 3 multiple times. I will say that nearly all of Pixar’s output has been, at least for me, experienced as an (ostensible) adult; the first Toy Story came out a month before I turned 18.
I may have to give 4 another try, I think I may have gone into it with some resentment over why they were making another when 3 felt like a perfect bow on the whole thing so it may have colored my reaction somewhat.
Ehhhh I don’t necessarily agree, but fair? I still have to fight back ugly tears at that scene.
I mean, I hope it was obvious that I was largely kidding and that I don’t actually hope anyone implodes, lol. I do actually think 3 was pretty superior to 2 in a lot of respects though. 2 just didn’t really click with me personally much at all.
I feel like Lightyear was at least in part a victim of some truly bad marketing. I’ve got a friend who is pretty damn intelligent and a bigger Toy Story nerd than myself and even he couldn’t discern that the flick was meant to be the in-universe fictional version of Buzz that inspired toy Buzz.
I don’t know how people claim Toy Story 2 was better than 3 without immediately imploding from the very obvious wrongness of the statement
Finally saw one of these goofy things in the wild the other day and I’m still not convinced that they aren’t proof we’re living in a simulation that’s starting to run low on power or memory.
Anyway, don’t feel bad for this dude at all, I feel bad for people forced to park next to him and who then have to expel all the…
There it is. I swear it was absent yesterday!
“Eventually, Haymitch won by utilizing the bounce back from the arena’s force field boundary, just as Katniss did in Catching Fire” seems like an odd and abrupt place to end the article. Did the entire thing not load for me, or..?
My biggest issues with F&WS were that they took a weird pivot with the Flag Smashers tonally from “Yeah they might have a valid point, maybe we should at least hear them out” to “Nope they’re (Karli especially) basically just murderous terrorists” so they could have a fight-filled finale without having to muddle…
Who the fuck has tried to cancel or even cared about Eminem for the last decade and change?
And it still isn’t, and never has been, by any metric other than one of social expectations. That hasn’t changed just because the ‘in group’ has expanded somewhat. In other words: everyone is still free to be as much of a dick as they want to whoever they want, they’re just mad they’re getting called out publicly…
I know I shouldn’t be, but I am still just baffled at the future existence of Toy Story 5. The ending to 3 was arguably one of the most perfect, poignant endings ever and an absolutely perfect bow on the franchise. Then... they made 4 anyway, which while not terrible, wasn’t especially interesting in any real way.
Anyw…
