Yes lets be united with the... *checks notes* president and vice president nominees who have called for violence against democrats, removal of Mexicans, and think trans people should not exist.
I will honestly say almost all of the D+ content, for me, has been “fine” to “pretty good.” The exceptions being Hawkeye and Loki which were great.
i gotta admit, “that wasn’t terrible” barely counts as praise; part of what’s kept me from coming back to mcu content is there’s a lot of other stuff I could watch which would garner such effusive plaudits as “fine,” or “middling.”
i do like how even the stuff you describe as ‘top tier’ needed a run-on sentence explaining what you didn’t like haha.
For me Starship Troopers prefigured The Boys as a satire that flew over the heads of at least part of the audience. I know people who to this day do not understand that it is anti-militaristic and take it at face value. (Mond you, these are the same people who laughed instead of cringed at Clint Eastwood’s Korean jokes…
“Harry Potter and the Made-Up Oppression”, now streaming on Fox Nation.
Getting the Succession team together just to remake the books/movies again, rather than doing something a bit more adult (let’s have a season or two of showing the rougher edges of Hogwarts, faculty sniping, etc.) is just going to show how out of touch they are.
Yeah, if you thought the storytelling in the back end of Game of Thrones was rushed, wait till you see them try to wrap up Harry Potter after season 3.
I just replied to someone else agreeing with this.
Yeah. I was diagnosed with (incurable, yay!) cancer in January and started treatments in April. Part of the reason that I only shared the news with family and a small group of friends is that I didn’t want to run that gauntlet.
Oh - it’s worse... I was a late comer to the comic similar to Mr Smith1466 above - I had watched seasons 1 and 2 before getting interested enough to go and get the entire run of the comic (in digital form).
TRUTH - there’s a whole lil’ tranche right around there that really ought to be higher.
He is, at the very least, into *human* women.
i think the reason people remember 3 so fondly is because it seemed crazy it would be any good at all, 11 years after 2. those lowered expectations and the big swing at the end (and the fact that you presumably saw it as a fully developed adult) means its remembered a lot more clearly and emotionally.
Meanwhile, the first Toy Story is living over here in my head rent-free. I thought 2, 3, and 4 were all very good sequels, but also mostly excuses to hang out with the gang a little more.
Hot-take: while Toy Story 3, is a fantastic and near-perfect movie, the ‘incinerator’ scene also in retrospect the point where Pixar started trying too hard.
Never thought that would be *that* controversial of a take. I like all 3, and they are more or less even in my mind, but there was something about the Lotso plot of 3 that felt a bit too similar to the Prospector in 2. Toy Story 2 gets the nod, but only just slightly so.
There is more, I got a “keep reading” button
