There’s a way to say what she’s trying to say without blaming victims, and she never manages to do that. Yes, heavy drinking on college campuses is a problem. You can say, alcohol and drugs negatively impact your ability to read signal, express yourself, and properly evaluate consent. The conversation seems to always

A mosquito is smaller than a marble and I doubt you would claim that it is not alive.

It’s a way for dudes pretending to be ironic and edgy, and women working on their Chill Girl badge, to go to a PG-13 titty bar. “But their wings are so good!” is the restaurant version of “I read it for the articles!”

Yeah, as I said in my comment, I’m not a Biden supporter. The comment about growth over time isn’t specific to him, it’s for all candidates. I just really felt in this instance, Gillibrand was really trying to get a Kamala Harris moment and thought this was it. There are more current things to slam him on.

Hillary Clinton voted in favor of the Iraq war and she and Bill Clinron were mainly responsible for the crime bill. Remember “super predators”? Why was Hillary not forced to go on a never ending apology tour in 2016, because that’s what this would be for Biden? No apology would ever be suffice for all the fragile egos

He was saying “no I didn’t” say that working mothers contributed to the deterioration of the family because he never actually said that. Implied, perhaps based on the mores of the time, but he never said what Gillibrand said. In the same span of time, he also stated that both men and women could handle childcare,

“Elizabeth Warren used to be a conservative. and Kamala Harris has a pretty shitty record as both a prosecutor and AG of Cali.”

Yep. If you need to A) Ao back nearly 40 years; B) Ignore both the message as a whole, and the context in which it was given, and C) Ignore the possibility of someone’s viewpoint evolving (remember, Obama said in 2004 that he was in favor of civil unions, but that marriage was not a basic civil right), then you’re

I don’t want to vote for Biden, I still hold an Anita Hill grudge. But I think 1981 is almost 40 years ago and people change. In fact, in 1981 I was just entering the workforce (granted part time) and it job advertisements (in the newspaper, only imagine!) specified jobs for men or women applicants. In NYC at the time

Biden said, contemporaneous to this, he “[did] not care whether in a modern marriage you want the man or the woman to take that [single earner] responsibility.”

Welcome to the inevitable backlash of deifying Ruth Bader Ginsburg. This surprises a lot of people, but there’s a measured, medium place between stanning for RBG as if she can do no wrong, and shitting all over her for having been friends with Scalia/saying Kavenaugh is okay/being an old white woman.

As an mom of an adopted child, I totally agree.  How many children do you have through adopting/fostering?

More than a little disengenous; This is the new business of creating outrage with pure BS as clickbait. I mean, read this:

I clicked only to see if the headline would be kinda misleading or totally misleading.  Turns out if was the latter.  The takes on this site have become a truly wild ride.

Ah, I see the “Shakespeare in Love is crap!” folks are out in the comments. I will defend that movie to my dying breath, evidently. I might just be a Tom Stoppard fangirl after R&GAD, but this movie is fun from beginning to end. Great cast (yes, even Gwyneth) and story. Not sure why it is always so lambasted.

The Life Aquatic is highly overrated, but Moonrise Kingdom and Grand Budapest are fantastic films.

Beetlejuice is great you monster.

I forgot ‘The Last of the Mohicans’. One of my favourite films.

Aaron Sorkin is the kid you give a B+ to because he was brilliant in the first half of the semester and got solid As. And then he went on Spring Break and came back a pothead and thought his shit was cleverer than it really was.

“The Life Aquatic” is A material in my book. “Moonrise Kingdom”, “Grand Budapest” and “Darjeeling” are all movies that just get better with rewatching, as well.
