no, the person endangering others’ lives by shooting off explosives in crowded city streets is the asshole. the ‘its part of my culture’ excuse doesn’t work when the practice is dangerous and hurts people

lol no its not. nice try tho.

No. Try reading again if you want to insult me, at least your ad hominem attacks might be germane. I said the neighborhood was rundown, dirty, was a food desert, and had no nightlife, no culture. And yeah it was also unsafe. Look if there’s prostitution rings, muggings and shootings happening, who’s going to like

A shell of its former self?? I moved to Bushwick in 2007. That place was horrible when we first moved in. Buildings falling apart. The main commercial street (Knickerbocker) was full of pawn shops and KFC, and was downright scary at night (I got followed home many many times). Prostitution ring down the street (I was

it was a show called the original OG, starring tracy morgan

um fireworks in a city street are seriously dangerous. they can blow someone’s eye out. they’re also illegal in Illinois

white = European

lol wut?

Who are you talking about? White Americans? Or all of the West? The West encompasses many different cultures, including the Greeks.

Sorry, but which distinctions? Between academic subjects? Or between different ethnicities? I’m a bit lost

Ok, but I don’t know that all white people think they are inherently superior to all black people. Isn’t that what the whole ‘culture of poverty’ argument is about? Also, I do think some black/brown people do think that white people are inherently evil. No?

Look, I do apologize if what I wrote came off as condescending. I am interested in what people in this blog have to say about this question of alleged equality between all people in all matters, regardless of all evidence to the contrary. For what it’s worth, I’m a woman and I do NOT think women and men are equal,

I feel like that’s a bit unfair. Do you feel like I have not listened/responded to your previous comments?

I am aware of what I wrote. I meant why don’t you tell me why you think what I said is biased?

I’m aware this is a blog for black people. But which rules am I breaking? I’m not trying to talk at anybody, I want to know what you think!!

I’m just trying to have a discussion with you about a comment you posted (I thought that was the point of these forums - bc who wants to only talk to people who have exactly the same opinions as they do? zzzz): Namely, that white people consider themselves superior to POC, and if they stopped/realized they weren’t,

care to explain why you think that?

But that wouldn’t explain how some formerly colonized people, like Indians, excel in the US’s job market. It also doesn’t explain why women of all races are unable to compete in science and math.

Some white people do think black and brown people are less than. And lots of brown and black people think white people are less than. It can go both ways. Depends on what you value.

You could add ‘in America’ to that. As in only white people can be institutionally racist in America (and Europe). Because Asians can sure as hell be racist in Asia, and black people can sure as hell be racist in Africa.
