After the brouhaha, I watched it again to see if my initial take on it was still accurate minus all the fandom hyperventilation. It actually moved up the ranks. It’s my second favorite Star Wars movie. It’s a really, really good film.

I mean real nerds, the kind who actually like the things they say they like. If they can gatekeep so can I.

I mean, she is a textbook mad scientist. I feel like we’d be a lot less confused by this character if she was a he and had some kooky Einstein hair. (Not that I didn’t love her. But she was very tropey, in a fun way).

And I am ALSO happy io9 is giving this show some love. I was kind of befuddled why the Nerd Internet

Or literally just feed it.

So what did y’all think of the show?

It’s stuff like that I watch sci-fi for. Save the base, hold the nice alien man’s hand through his pregnancy, mourn the heroic space captain and kindly doctor, understand the previously-unknowable alien menace. James said this felt like classic Who, but to me it felt very much like the first few seasons of TNG. I can

I liked it when the Pting learned that ohana means family.

You’re absolutely right. There was great anxiety that women would not want to leave the work force after the war, for both patriarchy-nonsense reasons and economic ones (we were planning the postwar economy at the time and there was a sense that effectively doubling the workforce while cutting back on the production

So I assume he went the copyright route because it was what was likely to get a court to pay attention. But I live down the road from these guys and they’re good neighbors. In this case I kind of feel for them. Satanism is used as a shorthand for evil in nearly all Christian media, and now that there is a show that

I pretty much agree with this review. I don’t know. After Moffat’s run where the Doctor was invariably the most important part of the universe and everywhere he went he changed things, I am kind of all right going back to the Doctor being a traveler, a witness, a scientist. But we have now had four episodes in a row

They forgot my personal favorite non-canonical Doctor: Robert Preston in the Last Starfighter.

Okay, so why hasn’t Disney started offering Bereavement Ceremony packages?

Also bizarrely meanspirited?

Okay, that’s adorable.

It looks a lot better after she combs it with a fork.

My headcanon was always that she was created with the Cap blood Dottie got to the Russians at the end of the first season of Agent Carter.

Watching his channel gave me heretofore-unsuspected Strong Feelings about Michael Eisner.

One thing that is rarely brought up as a part of these conversations; the downstream effects on hirability for the women who are targeted by these campaigns. Casting decisions are increasingly reliant on the size of the actor’s social media presence. If you pull yourself off social media, even for your own sanity and

I am excited for The Watch but I can’t think of a series that is more tonally and philosophically opposed to ASOIAF than Discworld.
