It’s not that I never tell my daughter she’s beautiful, but it’s one of many things I call out, along with persistence, resilience, intelligence, bravery, kindness, and empathy.

“She’s going to be beautiful, you’re going to be in trouble” is an implied comment about the daughter’s future sexual activity

I can’t point to the exact words where someone says something sexual about the daughter, because

That’s actually a really good way to teach her about consent from a young age - if she doesn’t want to she doesn’t want to and those wishes should and will be respected. Though I’d also recommend that, when she’s not feeling up for a hug or a kiss, you encourage her to give people high-fives or fist bumps instead.

Why is someone’s outside appearance always the first and most important piece of information that needs to addressed?

And yet you continue to refuse to explain to me what part of it implies sex. Like, I asked “What part of it implies sex, exactly?” and your response was “Telling her parents that they will be in trouble when she gets older implies sex”. Oh, okay, so it implies sex because it implies sex. Got it! Makes perfect sense to

Answering my question with your own question is a pretty good way to let me know you have no idea what you’re talking about. Have a nice day. :)

What part of it implies sex, exactly?

Pretty much. Adults aren’t always going to say the best things, but 99% of the time they’re very well-intentioned. Correcting them every time in front of the kid is waaaay less important than knowing exactly when to correct them.

I have a feeling this started out as a LEGO Suicide Squad game, and then Warner Bros were like “You wanna name a children’s game what?! No. God, no!” So as a result the devs expanded their scope a bit for a more family-friendly name.

Don’t lump in Jason with the rest of Gawker. While I don’t always agree with him in terms of opinions and politics, it’s safe to say he’s one of the best journalists gaming has ever seen, leagues above most of his co-workers on the various Kinja sites.

For sure. Learning the kid’s name and remembering it is important. Consistently calling them by that name instead of by an endearing nickname because of some misconceived notion of “basic respect” is less important.

What is up with people here consistently projecting their own sexual associations towards children? When someone says “You’re gonna be in trouble when she grows up,” what they’re saying is “She’s cute now, and I bet she’ll be beautiful when she’s older”. The “I wanna bang your 4 year old” part is all in your head.

...Huh? Since when is someone calling your child “beautiful” considered sexualization? I am allowed to consider something cute or beautiful without secretly wanting to bone it, and in all honesty, I have no idea why you need that spelled out to you. Second, kids (and people in general) can be both pretty AND smart.

This article is crazy racist, you do realize that, right? Please absolutely condemn racism from white people against black people, but don’t do it by being racist against white people. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

There are some things which could be considered offensive, but could also be excused as a slip of the tongue, or a joke that you didn’t think out well (I personally have a few moments when I said something racist without realizing it and then had to immediately go “NO WAIT I’M SORRY I DIDN’T MEAN IT LIKE THAT PLEASE

So... You’re completely unable to understand irony and take every comment you read on the Internet at face value? That’s a uh... great life you’re living there.

There’s also the fact that direct purchases undeniably mean better content for everyone. When you’ve got loot boxes you can get away with having 1 great skin and a dozen crappy ones because people will disregard the crappier ones in an attempt to get to the good one, which has lower odds. But with a cosmetics store,

Why would you respond to your own comment? Just edit...

To Horizon’s credit, the game takes place millions of years in the future, long after the devices have ceased any kind of function. Kind of miraculous your AR supercomputer is able to extract even a single e-mail from them.
